Alldaylongthelittleboyhadworkedhard,inthefieldandbarnandshed,forhisparents

werepoorfarmers,andcouldnotpayaworkman.Butatsunsettherecameanhourthatwasall

hisown,forhisfatherhadgivenittohim.Thentheboywouldgouptothetopofahillandlook

acrossatanotherhillthatrosesomemilesaway.Onthatfarhillstoodahousewithwindowsof

cleargoldanddiamonds.Theyshonesobrightlythatitmadetheboysquintatthem,butaftera

whilethepeopleinthehouseputupshutters,asitseemed,andthenitlookedlikeanycommon

farmhouse.Theboysupposedtheydidthisbecauseitwassuppertime;andthenhewouldgointo

thehouseandhavehissupperofbreadandmilk,andgotobed.
