TheimportanceofasuccessfulEnergyTransitioninAsiaPacific

Energytransitioniscrucialforadvancingclimatemitigationefforts.SignificantprogresshasbeenmadeintheGlobalNorthoverthe

pastfewyears,withtheGlobalSouthalsomakingstrides.TheAsiaPacificregion,asacontributorof50%oftheworld'semissions,playsapivotalroleinachievingasuccessfulglobalEnergyTransition,failingwhichtheregionmayfacedrasticconsequences,

including35%GDPlossinamere~25years.

TheNow:TheoftenoverlookedPeople-CentricdimensionsoftheEnergyTransitioninAsiaPacific

Currentdatasuggeststhatemphasishaspredominantlybeenoninfrastructure,failingtoadequatelyprioritise'People'inthetransitionprocesswithonly<1%offundingchannelledtowardPeople-Centriclevers.Thispublicationexaminesthe4keypeople

stakeholdersessentialforaJustTransition,specificallyfocusingonWorkers,Communities,Consumers,andSMEs.Itidentifiestherisksandopportunitiesassociatedwiththetransitionforeachstakeholdergroupandhighlightssuccessfulexamplesfromtheregion.Despitethesesuccesses,however,moreeffortisneededtoscalethemup.

Specifically,threekeychallengesalongtheprocessofsolutiondeploymentneedtobeaddressed.Thesechallengesincludegapsin
