mAwhenthecontrolunitsareattheopenposition.PowerlossThemaximumpermissiblevaluesperpoleofcircuit-breakersareindicatedinTable2.Table2–MaximumpowerlossperpoleRangeofratedcurrentInAMaximumpowerlossperpoleW32<In≤406.540<In≤50850<In≤6311.563<In≤10013.5100<In≤12518PollutiondegreeCircuit-breakerstothisstandardareintendedforenvironmentwithpollutiondegree2,i.e.normallyonlynon-conductivepollutionoccurs;occasionally,however,atemporaryconductivitycausedbycondensationmaybeexpected.ConstructionalrequirementsGeneralCircuit-breakersshallbesodesignedandconstructedthat,innormaluse,theirperformanceisreliableandwithoutdangertotheuserorsurroundings.Complianceischeckedbycarryingoutalltherelevanttestsspecified.AppearanceMetalpartsofthecircuitbreakershallbeadequatelyplatedandcoatedagainstrusting.Metalpartsshallnothavecracks,pittingorpeeling.Thesurfaceoftheplasticpartsshallbesmoothwithoutblisters,cracks,dents,orotherdefects.Externalpartswhichareaccessiblewhenoperatingthecircuit-breakershallbemadeofinsulatingmaterial.Dimensionsofcircuit-breakersarespecifiedinAnnexAOperatingmechanismTheoperatingmechanismofacircuitbreakershallmeetthefollowingrequirements:Theoperatingpartsmustbeflexibleandreliable,anditshallhaveatrip-freemechanism;Forautomaticcontrolapoweroperatingmechanismshallbeprovided;Themovingcontactscancometorestonlyintheclosedoropenposition,eveniftheoperatingmemberistrippedinanintermediatepositionThecircuitbreakershallbeprovidedwithanoperatinghandleformanuallyopeningandclosing,theoperatinghandlemustbesecuredreliably;Goodinsulationbetweenoperatinghandleandlivepartsshouldberealizedtoensuresafety;Themovingcontactsofallpolesofmultipolecircuitbreakersshallbesomechanicallycoupledthatallpoles,excepttheswitchedneutral,makeandbreaksubstantiallytogether,evenifanoverloadoccursononeprotectedpoleonly.Theswitchedneutralpole,ifavailable,shallnotcloseafterandshallnotopenbeforetheprotectedpoles;Ifapolehavinganappropriateshortcircuitmakingandbreakingcapacityisusedasaneutralpole,andthecircuitbreakerisindependentofmanualoperation,allpolesincludetheneutralpolemayoperatesubstantiallytogether;Exceptinmanualcontrolmode,whenreceivingatripcommand,theacircuitbreakershallopenautomaticallyandthemovingcontactsshallstayintheopenposition,andcouldn’tbeclosedmanually;Abreakerunderclosingcommandshallallowmanuallyopenorclose.Afteropening,itshallstayinopenpositionincaseofapower-offandreenergizing;Foracircuitbreakersupportingautomaticcontrolmode,theautomaticclosingmoduleshallemployatotallyenclosedconstructionwithinnershaftdriving,torealizeautomaticclosingfunctionandtoensuremovingcontactsstayintheopenpositionwhenmanuallyclosingabreakwhichisinopenstate.IsolationprotectionEachpoleofcircuit-breakersshallreliablybreakintheopenposition.Circuit-breakersshallprovideintheopenpositionanisolationdistanceinaccordancewiththerequirementsnecessarytosatisfytheisolatingfunction.Indicationoftheopenandclosedpositionofthemaincontactsshallbeprovidedbybothofthefollowingmeans:a)thepositionoftheactuator;b)aseparatemechanicalindicator.(Mechanicalindicatorandactuator)Indicationoftheopenandclosedpositionofthemaincontactsshallbeprovided.Itshallbepossibletoswitchthecircuit-breakeronandoffbyhand.Amechanicalindicatorisusedtoindicatethepositionofthecontacts,thisshallshowthesymbol“|”(or“closed”,“ON”,“red”)fortheclosedpositionandthesymbol“○”(or“open”,“OFF”,“green”)fortheopenposition(OFF).Indicationofthecontactpositionshallbereliable.Circuit-breakersshallbedesignedsothattheactuator,frontplateorcovercanonlybecorrectlyfittedinamannerwhichensurescorrectindicationofthecontactposition.ModeselectionswitchForcircuit-breakerswithsemi-automaticandautomaticcontrolmode,amodeswitchshallbeprovidedinthefronttoselectsemi-automaticcontrolmodeandremoteautomaticcontrolmode.Modeswitchshallbedesignedonthefrontalsideofthecircuit-breaker,andwiththeidentificationof“Automatic”and“Manual”forindicatingthemodeatpresent.Protectionmeasuresshallbetakentopreventthemodeswitchfromtamperinganditshallnotbepossibletoselectamodewithouttheaidofatool.Screws,current-carryingpartsandconnections5.7.1ScrewsandconnectionsConnections,whetherelectricalormechanical,shallwithstandthemechanicalstressesoccurringinnormaluse.5.7.2ElectricalconnectionsElectricalconnectionsshallbesodesignedthatcontactpressureisnottransmittedthroughinsulatingmaterialotherthanceramic,puremicaorothermaterialwithcharacteristicsnolesssuitable,unlessthereissufficientresilienceinthemetallicpartstocompensateforanypossibleshrinkageoryieldingoftheinsulatingmaterial.5.7.3Current-carryingpartsandconnectionsCurrent-carryingpartsincludingpartsintendedforprotectiveconductorsshallbemadeof——copper;——analloycontainingatleast58%copperforpartsworkedcold,oratleast50%copperforotherparts;——othermetalorsuitablycoatedmetal,nolessresistanttocorrosionthancopperandhavingmechanicalpropertiesnolesssuitable.Note:Incaseofusingferrousalloysorsuitablycoatedferrousalloys,compliancetoresistancetocorrosionischeckedbyatestofresistancetorusting.Therequirementsofthissubclausedonotapplytocontacts,magneticcircuit
