在普通高中英语课堂开展持续默读的影响因素的行动研究Title:AnActionResearchontheFactorsInfluencingSustainedSilentReadinginRegularHighSchoolEnglishClassroomsIntroduction:SustainedSilentReading(SSR)isapedagogicalpracticethatencouragesstudentstoreadsilentlyforanuninterruptedandextendedperiodoftimeduringclass.Ithasgainedpopularityinmanyeducationalsettingsasawaytofosterreadinghabits,improvereadingskills,andenhancelanguageacquisition.ThepurposeofthisactionresearchistoinvestigatethefactorsthatinfluencetheimplementationandeffectivenessofSSRinregularhighschoolEnglishclassrooms.1.Background:SustainedSilentReadinginvolvesstudentsindependentlyselectingandreadingbooksoftheirchoice.Unliketraditionalteacher-ledinstruction,SSRprovidesstudentswithautonomyandfreedomtoexploretheirinterestsanddevelopaloveforreading.Italsoallowsforpersonalizedlearningandcanaccommodatedifferentreadinglevelsandinterestswithinaheterogeneousclassroom.2.Objectives:Theobjectivesofthisactionresearchare:-ToidentifythefactorsthateitherfacilitateorhindertheimplementationofSSRinregularhighschoolEnglishclassrooms.-ToexaminetheeffectsofSSRonstudents'readinghabits,readingmotivation,andEnglishlanguageproficiency.-ToproviderecommendationsforenhancingtheeffectivenessofSSRinthecontextofregularhighschoolEnglishclassrooms.3.Methodology:Thisactionresearchwillinvolvethefollowingsteps:a)Survey:Studentsandteacherswillbesurveyedtogatherinformationabouttheirattitudes,beliefs,andpracticesrelatedtoSSR.ThesurveywillalsoexploretheavailabilityofreadingmaterialsandtheamountoftimeallocatedforSSR.b)Classroomobservations:SeveralEnglishclasseswillbeobservedduringSSRsessionstodeterminethelevelofstudentengagement,therangeofreadingmaterials,andanychallengesfacedbystudentsorteachers.c)Dataanalysis:Thedatacollectedfromsurveysandclassroomobservationswillbeanalyzedtoidentifycommonthemesandpatterns.d)Interventions:Basedonthefindings,interventionswillbeimplementedtoaddressanyidentifiedchallengesandenhancetheimplementationofSSR.e)Evaluation:Theeffectivenessoftheinterventionswillbeevaluatedthroughfollow-upsurveysandfurtherclassroomobservations.4.FactorsInfluencingSSRinRegularHighSchoolEnglishClassrooms:a)Teachersupportandencouragement:Teachersplayacrucialroleinfosteringapositivereadingenvironmentbyprovidingguidance,selectingappropriatereadingmaterials,andmodelingreadingbehavior.b)Accesstoavarietyofreadingmaterials:Availabilityofadiverserangeofreadingmaterialsintheclassroom,library,orthroughdigitalresourcesisessentialtocatertostudents'readinginterestsandpreferences.c)Timeallocationandclassroommanagement:SufficienttimeneedstobeallocatedforSSR,andclassroommanagementstrategieslikecreatingaquietandcomfortablespaceshouldbeimplementedtoensureanuninterruptedreadingenvironment.d)Studentinterestandmotivation:Students'intrinsicmotivationandinterestinreadingcanbeinfluencedbyfactorssuchasbookchoice,connectiontoreal-lifeexperiences,andpeerinteractions.e)Parentalinvolvementandsupport:EncouragingparentalinvolvementthroughhomereadingprogramsandsharingreadingresourcescanfurtherpromotereadinghabitsandsupportSSRimplementation.5.Conclusion:SustainedSilentReadingcanbeavaluablecomponentofregularhighschoolEnglishclassrooms,promotingreadinghabitsandimprovinglanguageacquisition.Throughthisactionresearch,thefactorsinfluencingSSRimplementationandeffectivenesscanbeidentifiedandaddressed,leadingtoimprovedoutcomesforstudents.Bycreatinga
