Prizewinner.Wu'sgraduateworkfocusedonahighlydesirabletopicofthatage:uraniumfission(铀裂变)products.

AftercompletingherPh.D.in1940,WuacceptedanofferfromPrincetonUniversityasthefirstfemaleteacher.In

1944,shejoinedtheManhattanProjectatColumbiaUniversity.
