all.Butthosewithsedentarylifestylescannotexpectthese

foodstomakethemhealthy.

Thereis,however,onethingwhichincreasesthe1ikelihoodof

dyingrelativelyyoung,evenwhenalloftheotherfactorshave

beentakenintoaccount.Itisoneofthebiggestkillerseven

amongthosewholeadlifestyleswhich,byanycriteria,are

factoristhatofbeingpoor.RecentreportfromtheCancer

ResearchCampaignsuggestedthat12700deathscouldhavebeen

avoidedbetween1986and1990ifinequalitiesincancercare

didnotexistinEnglandandWales.Comparingcancersurvival

rates,thestudyfoundthatEnglandandWalesfaredunfavorably

withEuropeandtheUS,butthemostaffluentregionsofthese

twocountriesexhibitedsimilarfigurestotheEuropeanaverage.
