now?

Transportisthefastest-growingcontributortoclimate

change,withroadtransportaccountingforapproximately20%ofcarbondioxideemissionsintheEUalone.

Approximately50%ofvehiclesontheroadtodayare

registeredtocorporateorganizations.Corporatesare

thereforeincrediblyimportantinleadingthetransitionto

amoresustainabletransportsystem.

Makingtheswitchtoalow-emissionfleetisoneofthe

easiestwaysforbusinessestolowertheiroverallemissions

footprintandtohelptackleclimatechange.Itcanbedone

EVuptakeincreasedsignificantlyinalmostallmarkets.ThisreflectstheincreasingpopularityofEVsacrossEuropeancountriesasmoremodelsbecomeavailablein

everysegment.

Charginginfrastructureisstilllagging,creatingconditionsforacharging

shortageasEVregistrationsrapidlyincrease.ThishighlightstheurgentneedforgovernmentstoinvestinarobustandreliablepubliccharginginfrastructureacrossEurope.

EVsaremoreaffordablethanever.Costcompetitivenessismostlydrivenby

comparativelylowerenergypricesforEVs(especiallywhencomparedtoincreased

dieselandpetrolfuelprices)andmorebeneficialtaxationarrangementsforEVdrivers.

NorwayrankedhighestintermsofEVreadiness,CzechRepublicrankedlowest,andGreecehadthemostimprovedscorecomparedto2021.

Countryhighlights

Thetop3countriesintheindexremainedthesameaslastyear,withNorway#1,Netherlands#2andUK#3.

Austriaincreasedsignificantlywiththeshared#3position.ThisisduetoanimprovedchargingnetworkandmuchhigherEVregistrations.

Greeceimprovedthemost;from16pointsto23points.ThisisdrivenbyanincreasedEVmarketshareandlowerTCOforEVs.

Sweden(+5points)andBelgium(+4points)havebothincreasedtheirscoresignificantlywithanimprovedcharginginfrastructureand

morefavourablegovernmentincentivesforEVs.

Themostmaturemarkets(NorwayandNetherlands)showasmallincreaseingovernmenttaxation,whichcouldhurttheirscoresin

comingyears.
