share
my
lesson
with
you.
Now
I
would
like
to
describe
my
lesson
plan
from
the
following
6
aspects:
analysis
of
teaching
material,
analysis
of
students,
analysis
of
teaching
objectives,
teaching
and
learning
strategies,
teaching
procedures
and
blackboard
design.To
begin
with,
I
will
analyze
teaching
material.
A
good
teaching
material
is
like
a
fertile
soil.
It
not
only
provides
students
with
language
knowledge,
but
also
provides
students
with
unlimited
space
for
thinking
and
expansion,
enlighten
the
wisdom
of
students.
In
my
lesson,
the
material
comes
from
IRead@PEP,Book3,lesson6,Ican’thelpnow.Thestorytakesplaceinafamilywhereanewbabysisterwasborn.Thisinterestingstoryiscloselyrelatedtodailylife,especiallywhenthetwo-childpolicyiscarriedon.Withthecomingofthenewbabysister,theboyfeelshappy.However,whenthebabyishungry,wetorfussy,hecan’thelp.Hefeelsfrustrated.Oneday,whenthebabywokeup,noonewasthere,sothelittleboygottheopportunitytotakecareofherbyreadingtoher.Inthisstory,theboy’sfeelingschangesfrombeingunhappytobeinghappy.Andthereasonisthathecanhelp.Therearesomenewvocabularies,suchaswakeup,feed,wet,change,fussyandsoon.Next,
let’s
talk
about
the
students.
Besides
the
material,
students
are
the
most
important
part
of
a
lesson.
So,
what
part
will
students
be?
Obviously,
the
students
should
be
the
trunk.
The
"English
curriculum
standard"
clearly
requires
that
teachers
should
always
reflect
the
main
position
of
students
in
the
process
of
English
teaching,
and
give
full
play
to
the
initiative
and
enthusiasm
of
students.Studentsingrade4areactiveandcurious,interestedinnewthings.TheyhavelearntEnglishforoneyear.SotheyhavesomebasicEnglishknowledgeandlanguageskills.What’smore,someofthemareelderbrothersandsistersathome.Theylovetheirfamilyandareeagertoexpressthelove.Sotheteachershouldpayattentiontothecommunicationwiththem,providingthemwithmorechancestouselanguagetoexpresstheirthoughts.Now,

According
to
the
student-centered
approach
and
the
New
Curriculum
Standard,
As
a
reading
lesson,
I
set
up
the
following
teaching
objectives
based
on
the
teaching
material
and
the
students.Languagecompetence:Getthegeneralideaofthestory.Knowthechangesoftheboy’sfeelingsandwhy.Understandthenewwords:wakeup,feed,wet,change,fussyandsoon.Usethesentencepattern“Ican...”toexpressthingsyoucandoforfamilymembers.Emotionalgoals:Learntoloveandtakecareofotherfamilymembersbydoingsmallthings.Thinkingcapacity:Cultivatetheabilityofassociativethinking,reasoningthinking,divergentthinkingbyreadingpictures.Cultivatestudentstothinkcomprehensively,deeplyandwarmlybyansweringquestions.Learningcapacity:Enhancethestudents’abilityofreadingcomprehension,suchasscanning,readingsilentlyandextensivelybyreadingstorieswithtasksandcarryingoutsimplereadingskilltraining.Part4iskeypointsanddifficultpoints.Forthekeypoints,Iwillfocusonthegeneralideaofthestory,pronunciationandmeaningofnewwordsandhowtocultivatestudents’readingcapacity.Forthedifficultpoints,Iwillfocusonleadstudentstoretellthestoriesandtalkaboutwhattheycandofortheirfamilymembers.Based
on
the
teaching
material
and
the
level
of
the
students,
in
order
to
achieve
the
teaching
objectives,
the
following
teaching
and
learning
strategies
will
be
used.
1.Task-based
teaching
strategy.
Based
on
the
concept
of
learning
by
doing,
the
teaching
activity
is
centered
on
students
and
task-based
teaching
mode
is
adopted
around
reading
skills.
2.Cooperative
learning
strategy.
Cultivating
students'
cooperative
spirit
is
one
of
the
tasks
of
English
Curriculum
in
basic
education
stage.
Through
the
communication
with
partners,
students
can
make
improvement
and
complete
various
tasks
together.
In
this
process,
they
will
learn
how
to
cooperate
with
others
and
to
improve
their
English
level.In
this
lesson,
PPT,
blackboard
and
cards
will
be
used.Now,
we
come
to
the
most
important
part--teaching
procedures,
which
will
be
demonstrated
in
the
following
steps:
Lead-in,Pre-reading,While-reading
and
Post-reading.
Step1:Lead-in:Tobeginwiththelesson,Iwillshowavideoaboutnewbabies.(designingpurpose)Thevideowillleadinthetopic,createacomfortableandrelaxedatmosphere.Also,somenewwordsandphraseswillbeexplainedinthispart.Step2:Pre-reading:Thispartmainlyfocusesonthecover.Twotasksforstudents.Taskone:Whatcanyouseeinthecover?Tasktwo:Whowritesthestoryandwhodrawsthesepictures?(designingpurpose)Thiswillhelpstudentstogetthefirstimpressionofthestory.What’smore,task2willhelpstudentswillhelpthemtoknowthewriterandillustrator.Step3:While-reading:Thefirstreadingiscalledpicturetour.Iwillshowthepicturesofthebookwithoutwords.Afterwatchingthesepicture,Iwillaskthemtopredictwhatthestoryisabout.(designingpurpose)Thiswillhelptodevelopthestudents’abilityininterpretingpicturesandassociativethinking.Alsostudentswillperceivethegeneralideabydoingthis.Thesecondreadingiscalledintensivereading.Iwilldividethewholestoryintothreeparts:thefirstpartispage1,thesecondisfrompage2topage4,andthelastpartisfrompage5topage6.Thefirstpart,page1,isforstudentstoreadsilentlyandchoosetherightanswer.Whenthenewbabysisterarehome,howdoestheboyfeelandwhy?Iwillguidestudentstochoosetherightanswerandunderlinethereasons.Atthesametime,Iwillput“happy”and“Iwillhelp”ontheblackboard.Thenwecometothesecondpartwhichisfrompage2topage4.Inthispart,threetaskswillbegiven.Task1:viewthepicturesandfillintheblanks.Somenewwordswillbeillustratedherebyvariousways.Task2:Howdoestheboyfeelandwhy?Also,Iwillput“nothappy”and“Ican’thelp”ontheblackboard.Finally,wecometothethirdpartfrompage5topage6.Alsothreetasksforstudents.Task1:Readandanswer:Whathappened?Task2:Groupdiscussion:Ifyouaretheboy,whatcanyoudoforbabysister?Task3:Howdoestheboyfeelatlastandwhy?(designingpurpose)Intheprocessoffinishingthetasksabove,studentswillgettoknowthechangeoftheboy’sfeelingsandthereasons,whichistheclueofthestory.Inordertodotherelevantexercises,studentshavetoreadthepicturesandwordsdeeply,bydoingthis,students’understandingswillbedeepenedandtheirthinkingabilitywillbetrained.Throughgroupwork,IwanttoenhancetheirsenseofcooperationandStep4:Post-reading:Inthispart,threetasksforthem.Task1:Watchthevideoandreadafterit.Task2:sumupthewholestorybyusingmindmapandretellitwiththehelpofteacher.Task3:Groupdiscussion:Makealist:Whatsmallthingscanyoudoforyourfamily?(designingpurpose)Task1willhelpstudentstoacquirethelanguagebyimitating.Summingupandretellingisbenefittoconsolidatingwhathavelearntandcreatemoreout-putopportunitiesforstudents.Inthelattask,Iwanttoguidetoputtheknowledgelearntintoreallife,Step5:Homework:Asforhomework,studentsneedstotellthestorytotheirparentsorfriends.Also,theyneedtoputthelisttheymakeintorealactions.(designingpurpose)Asweallknow,homeworkisanotherkindofconsolidationandapplication.Blackboarddesign:Finally,Iwilltalkaboutmyblackboarddesign.Itmainlyincludetwoparts:Theboys’feelingsandreasons.Thatisthemainclueofthestory.Alsosomenewwordswillbepresentedontheblackboard.The
