等作主语时,谓语动词用复数形式。如:MyfamilywerewatchingTVwhenthenewscamethatwewonthegrandprize.Thecattleareeatinggrassinthefield.单、复数同形的名词如species,deer,fish,sheep,Chinese,Japanese,means等作主语时,应根据其意义来决定谓语动词的单复数形式。如:Thisspeciesofroseisrare.精心整理Thesespeciesarefewinnumbersandmaybewipedoutfromthisplanetifnecessaryactionsarenottakenintime.复数形式的书名、剧名、报名、国名、学科及组织名称等作主语时,谓语动词往常用单数形式。如:TheUnitedNationsisoneofthemostimportantinternationalorganizationsinkeepingworldpeace.4.主语是glasses,shorts,gloves,scissors,trousers式。但如果它们前面有pair/type/kindof
等复数名词时,谓语动词要用复数形时,谓语动词的单复数由pair/type/kind的数决定。如:Thetrousersarewornout,soapairofnewtrousersisgoingtobebought.表示重量、距离、金额、时间等的复数名词作主语时,往常被看作整体,谓语动词一般用单数形式。可是如果强调数目,谓语动词用复数形式。如:Fivehundredmilesisalongdistance.Onehundredcentsmakeadollar.“morethanone/manya+单数名词”作主语时,只管意义上是复数,但谓语动词多用单数形式。可是,在“more+复数名词+thanone”作主语时,谓语动词用复数形式。如:Manyashiphasbeendamagedinthestorm.Moremembersthanoneareagainsttheplan.二、代词作主语代词作主语时,谓语动词的单复数要根据它们所代替的名词的单复数来确定。如:Yourshoesareblack,andmine(=myshoes)arebrown.Mostofhissparetimewasspentinreading.Eachoftheguestswasgivenapresent.表示数量的不定代词much,little作主语时,谓语动词用单数形式;many,both,few作主语时,谓语动词用复数形式。如:ThelittleIhaveisnotworthgiving.Onlythefewarelikelytoenjoythismusic.三、由连结词连结的名词或代词作主语1.由
and或
both...and...
连结两个并列主语时,谓语动词一般用复数形式。如果
and连结的两部分指同一人、同一物、同一事或同一观点时,
and后边的名词前没有冠词,谓语动词常用单数形式。如:精心整理Thesingeranddancerisgoingtogiveusaperformancethisevening.(Thesingeranddancer指同一个人,双重身份)Thepeasantandthepoetaregoingtomakespeechesfortheblindinthisspecialschool.(Thepeasantandthepoet指两个不同的人,一个是农民,另一个是诗人)2.当主语后边跟有with,alongwith,togetherwith,including,but,except,like,aswellas,besides,ratherthan等惹起的短语时,谓语动词的单复数与主语保持一致。如:Dr.Green,togetherwithhiswifeandtwosons,hasjustleftandwillreturnatfouro’clock.3.由or,either...or,neither...nor,notonly...butalso,not...but等连结两个名词或代词作主语时,谓语动词往常与周边的名词或代词保持一致。如:Neitheryounorheknowsanythingaboutit.四、数词、量词作主语“分数+of+名词”组成的短语或“a
