英语国家概况教学大纲

《英语国家概况》教学大纲一、总纲《英语国家概况》是介绍英语国家社会与文化的一门课程，是英语专业的基础课程。开设本课的目的在于使学生通过学习，能够比较全面地了解英美等国的各种情况，培养学生正确分析认识有关英美等国问题的能力，并能以正确的眼光看待世界上所发生的问题，把学生培养成为高素质的人才，同时又能爱祖国、热爱社会主义，致力为祖国的繁荣、发达而努力的人才，这是培养英语专业学生如何树立正确世界观的一个重要手段；通过比较学习不同文化中具有特殊文化涵义的词语与表达式，可以促使学生掌握一些特殊词语的深层次意义，是对词汇的学习以及翻译水平的提高有益的补充；通过开展中外文化的比较，让学生切身感受到成功的交际仅有语言是远远不够的，文化方面的因素有时所起的作用远远大于语言本身，必将为英语学习者成功地参与国际商务活动，更有效地进行国际合作与交流打下坚实的文化基础。教学目标：1.知识：要求学生在学习完本课程后，对世界上5个主要英语国家的地理、历史、政治、经济、社会、文化和生活等方面的基本情况和制度，有较好的了解，并能在工作中加以运用。2.语言学习：学生应结合有关5个主要英语国家地理、历史、政治、经济、社会、文化和生活等方面的基本情况和制度，学会与之相关的英语语汇和表达方式。3．能力：通过课文的阅读，1）提高学生对社会与文化类英语读物的阅读能力。2）提高学生听懂有关英语国家社会与文化情况的英语讲座、报告和广播。3）培养学生用英语进行相关的交谈、讨论、辩论和评论的能力，能作5分钟的连贯性讲话。4）培养学生以获取信息和表达思想为目的的阅读技巧。学时分配：本课于第五学期开设，总计36学时，平均每周2个学时.使用教材：《英语国家社会与文化入门》（上、下册）主编：朱永涛出版社：高等教育出版社。版次：1997年8月第一版章次内容总课时数理论教学讲练和评议观摩周次上册（英国、澳大利亚、新西兰）第一周绪论GreatBritain大不列颠NorthernIreland北爱尔兰33第二周TheGovernmentoftheUnitedKingdom英国的政府机构Politics英国政治概况22第三周TheUKEconomy英国经济BritishLiterature英国文学11第四周SportsinBritain英国的体育活动BritishHolidaysandFestivals
