642/2/2023ShelSilversteinwasanAmericanpoet,singer-songwriter,cartoonist,screenwriterandauthorofchildren'sbooks.BornSeptember25,1930DiedMay8,1999652/2/2023ShelSilverstein(1932-2000)享誉美国文坛的绘本大师ShelSilverstein多才多艺,集画家、诗人、剧作家、歌手、作曲家于一身。他的作品被翻译成二十多国语言,全球总销售量超过一千八百万本。他的创作生涯可以追溯至一九五二年在花花公子杂志发表文章和漫画。之后,他加入美国陆军,曾在日本和韩国服役,不过他仍然不忘创作,固定在刊物上发表作品,退役后专事创作,作品散见各报章杂志。一九六四年,他以《爱心树》(TheGivingTree)一书,轰动文坛,奠定他在当代美国儿童文学界的地位。Silverstein也是一位著名的作词者,60年代初期,他谱写了许多脍炙人口的名曲,并且尝试担任唱片制作人,其中他和Dr.Hook合唱团的一系列合作最为著名,作品从浪漫到嬉笑怒骂都有,而Sylvia'sMother和TheCoverof"RollingStone"等歌曲更成了不朽的经典。另外,他和乡村歌手BobbyBare的一系列合作,也深受推崇,其中就包括了根据他自己原名作品改编的TheGivingTree。2000年5月10日ShelSilverstein因心脏病逝于美国佛罗里达州的家中。
