4、 features of adventure movies. Teacher asks students which movie it is.Ss listen to the audio and guess whichmovie it is.Teacher asks students what other adventure movies they have watched. And teacher shows some posters of the films, Alice in Wonderland, the Pirates of Caribbean, Tarzan.Students ta
5、lk about the adventure movies they have watched. And they use some adjectives to describe the features of adventure stories.Step 2: Pre-reading (5 minutes)Teacher asks students to turn to P21 and read the introduction in Activity 4.Students summarize the key information about the book by filling out
6、 the chart.Step 3: Vocabulary(10 minutes)Teacher shows the illustrations of the scenes and let students describe them by using the vocabularies they have learned in advance or their own words, in order that students will get a basic understanding of the story.Students work in groups and describe the
7、 photos.Step 4:While-reading(15 minutes)Extensive ReadingTeacher asks students to divide the passage into three part and give a heading for each part in order to let them grasp the basic structure of the whole story.Students work in groups and summarize headings for each part.To let students have a
8、deeper understanding of the story, teacher requires them to underline the sentences which state the events in the passage before they number the events. In the process, some students may have difficulty finding the exact sentences in the passage, which teacher needs to give some hints.Students work
