2、ween English and business English?Explaining (40 mins)一、商务英语的界定商务vs商业商务英语简而言之，商务英语就是商业主体在国际商务活动中，为实现商业目的而使用的一种英语变体。商务英语属于英语的一种社会功能变体。商务英语同法律英语和医学英语一样，属于功能性语言的范畴。商务英语是一种蕴涵各种商务活动内容、为从事国际商务活动的人们所认同和接受、适合国际商务活动交际需要的一种英语变体。商务英语商务英语完全具有普通英语的语言学特征。商务英语又是商务专业知识和英语语言的紧密结合，本身又具有独特性。实用性、专业性、目的性核心内容：语言知识、交际技能、专

3、业知识、管理技能、文化意识 （向嫣红，2000:21）二、商务英语的特点第一，商务英语的词汇、语法以及内容等各个方面均与较强的专业性密切相关。e.g. National accounts consist of production account, distribution of income and expenditure account, capital account, financial account, and assets and liabilities accounts.译文：国民经济账户包括生产账户、收入分配及支出账户、资本账户、金融账户和资产负债账户。 e.g. Basic

4、accounting tables consist of GDP table, input-output table, flows-of-funds table, balance of payments, and balance sheet.译文：基本核算表包括国内生产总值表、投入产出表、资金流量表、国际收支平衡表和资产负债表。 第二，商务英语的用词平实易懂、正式规范、简短达意。商务文书中，要使用一些非常正式、非常冷僻的大词或者较古的短语。在动词的使用方面，多用正式的单个动词。在介词和连词的使用方面，商务英语中往往采用以繁复的介词短语来替代简单的介词和连词。商务英语中不使用俚语或者粗俗用词第三
