Rule: The better known and more respected a speaker is, the shorter your introduction can be; and the less well-known the speaker is, the more you will need to do to arouse interest in his subject and build up his prestige.Preparati

9、or this mornings session.3. Introducing Co-chairman It is a great pleasure for me to share the chairmanship with Professor D. Harris from Stockholm, Swede. My co-chairman is Professor Bill form Milan, Italy.Dr. Yang, who was expected to be the co-chairman for this symposium, could not attend this me

10、eting due to illness. We are honored, however, to have in his place as the co-chairman Dr. Li on my left. Dr. Li is the Director for the Nankai Linguistics Institute. We are extraordinarily pleased and honored to have him here today to cochair this meeting.4. Introducing the theme of the session The

11、 purpose/aim of our meeting today is to review the Development in ESL Teaching and Learning. What we are going to do this morning is to review the Relation Between Students Learning Strategies and Performance.We are assembled/gathered here to review the Future of Globalization.This session will deal

Introducing a keynote speaker The speakers past and present experienceOur keynote speaker is Peter Roger, the president of National Intelligence Council. Previously, he served as a special advisor to the United Kingdom Year 2000 Task

13、Force and to the Russian Federation Task Force.From 2000 to2004, he was affiliated with the Institute for Social and Economic Policy in the Middle East at the Kennedy School of Harvard University. Dr.John Smith is a professor and the chairperson of the Food science and Technology Department at the O

14、hio State University in Columbus, Ohio.The speakers educational backgroundOur speaker got her ph.D. in agricultural economics at the University of California, Berkeley, followed by a series of teaching and research positions at Harvard, Cambridge University, and Princeton.Terry holds a Bachelor of S

15、cience degree in communications. He also holds a Master of Business Administration in marketing from George State University.Dr. Lees B.S. degree is from Rutgers University. His ph.D. is from University of Massachusetts under the guidance of Professor Fergus Clydesdale, a renowned food policy expert

It is a great pleasure for me to share the chairmanship with Professor D. Harris from Stockholm, Sweden. On behalf of the organizing com

29、mittee of HIV Treatment and Care in the New Century, I would like to announce the session open. We have some of the worlds foremost clinicians and basic scientists and researchers, people at the forefront of this field. Let me introduce our first speakerProfessor Michael Saag, who is Director of the

30、 University of Alabama AIDS Outpatient Clinic in Birmingham, Alabama. Hes also the Associate Director of Clinical Care and Therapeutics at the University of Alabama AIDS Center. Professor Saag has published extensively in medical journals and books on the subject of basic science of HIV and clinical

31、 treatment of HIV. Hes extensively involved in AIDS treatment and policy, and his presentation is entitled “ Current Controversies in Antiviral Therapy”. 32、we know that you back up the Dutch theory, that is, antiviral drugs are not preventing HIV from killing cells, but simply releasing into the blood mature CD4 cells that have been trapped elsewhere. If the Dutch team is right, the consequences could be profound, and scientists will find new ways of t
