5、ntlemen!today id like to share my personal experience of happiness and bitterness of being an english teacher.i remember, five years ago, when i stood at the teachers desk for the first time, maybe because i was too young, maybe because i was too inexperienced, the students in my class paid no atten

6、tion to me, didnt behave themselves at all. i felt ashamed and helpless. in order to save my face, i just criticized the students seriously whenever they talked in class or even moved a little. i thought sooner or later, they would listen to me. yes, i could control the class now, but the students a

7、nd the atmosphere became strange. no, they were not listening to me. it was too quiet. the breathless silence urged me to consider the way i was teaching.then 1 august XX, i got the chance to study the new course of english. until then could i realized that it was my frozen eyes that make the studen

8、ts flinch, it was my stiff face that trod out the enthusiasm in the childrens hearts. how to stimulate my class and show my warmth, so that they can enjoy their study in english? i had a deep thought.its smile. there is a kindness called smile. it is the most beautiful language in the world. it can

9、make distance no distance. “just awake the students with a smiling face!”i said to myself.the next day, when i stood on the stage with a smiling face, when i asked the questions with a smile, when i encouraged the children in a friendly way, the students were just shocked! but i could find there was

10、 more happiness and excitement in their eyes! gradually, they got used to it, and participated in my teaching. as i predicted, that class became a lovely one. i was moved, and said“thank you for listening, boys and girls!”in the following days, i keep on working even harder. i prepare my lessons car

11、efully. i use flash, pictures, riddles, and interesting stories to make great efforts to help the students to learn more. but i will never forget one thing: smile, give them a smile, to give them strength, to let them feel happy, to make them confident. the children do enjoy the english lesson now,

14、in a megacity, he captured precisely one of its characters - urban life is largely about “shoulder rubbing”. i came to beijing 3 years ago, like what the writer says, its a city where the masses of humanity gather, but my life here is more than just confronting the huge crowds, actually ive found it

15、 be of great value.as a freshman in college, i arrived in beijing, thrilled at the first sight of this dazzling city, but soon the gap between the capital and my small hometown gave me the culture shock. i lost the frequent contact with my old friends, same food was served in a different way, and th

16、e new taste wasnt to my liking. in addition to my loss of appetite, i also lost my sense of direction, especially when i came to those sixteenlane-wide crossroads. the sheer volume of the traffic, the density of the pedestrians, drove home to me the idea of a modern metropolis. like, the distance fr

17、om my dormitory to the nearest wall-mart, back in my small hometown, that would cover the full length of the entire business district. and i am not proud to admit that i was disoriented.now three years have passed as the city keeps on growing. philosopher herbert spencer says “life is the continuous

18、 adjustment of internal relations to external relations”, so i gradually adapted myself to get along and grow together with the city. there is no fear of getting lost, since many city maps are displayed in public, and i feel free to ask for help. once i even run into this old man who not only pointe

19、d out the way for me, but also briefed me the interesting history of the place that i was looking for. what is particularly worth mentioning is that when the summer olympics was held in beijing, i got the chance to be a volunteer. working with foreign delegations, my job involves being a personal assistant and tour guide plus doing interpretation. my shoulders were not only “rubbed” but heavily loaded with responsibility.
