This course should enable students to:1. Establish fun

3、damental knowledge, basic methods and technique of draping.2. Understand the basic draping procedures and its application to current fashion trends.3. Develope a sample garment incorporating selection of fabric, draping, construction and finishing, employing industrial sample room procedures.II、MAJO

Industrial draping technique of basic bodice, sleeve,

5、 skirt and collars will be taught in this course. The normal teaching process is composed of three steps :Firstly, the basic principle and technique of draping is taught by lecture and demonstration.Secondly, students practise in class with aid from the lecturer so as to understand basic principle a

6、nd technique.Thirdly, the application of draping technique to variation of apparel design is elicited. 14、lin and drape basic bodiceTeaching Mode:The class is begun with theoritical teaching. Through lecture and demonstration, the instructor introduce basic front bodice draping technique and steps. Then the students are arranged to practise in class with the instructors tutorship so as to grasp what the

15、y have learned in class.Teaching Process: Conduct theoritical teaching through lecture and demonstration(2 hour),including:A. Prepare muslin and draw guide lines【Attention:】 Muslin should be pressed flatly and blocked/reshaped so that yarns of the crosswise and lengthwise grain are at perfect right

16、angles to each other. To shape the muslin, pull the edges diagonally until the fabric is squared.;Guide lines on muslin should be drawn perfectly means completely, clearly and correctly.B. Draping technique and steps of front bodice,including: 3D modeling,marking,truing,pinning darts.【Attention:】BL

17、should keep horizontally and CF line keep vertically/ falling straight down; Smooth along the grain line, avoid stretching and pulling muslin to cause diagonal crease;Add suitable ease; Use 2 pins to secure BP with 1 pin up and 1 pin down. 【Attention:】Pay attention to the correct distance between tw

18、o pins and the correct direction of pin on dress form; When correction is required, please use blue pencil for1st correction and red pencil for a second correction.) Check their front bodice draped on dress form to se

24、e any draping issues. And then start new class: Conduct theoritical teaching through lecture, demonstration and discussion(2 hour),including:A. Draping technique and steps of back bodice,including: 3D modeling,marking,truing,pinning darts.Issues discussed in class: Describe the draping steps of fron

25、t bodice briefly and tell about the key points during draping; Summarize similarities and differences between front and back bodice draping steps.B. Check fit of the completed draping and make correction if necessaryStudents place the completed garment on the dress form. The students are organized t

26、o check the fit of the garment and to offer suggestions to improve fit at first. Then the instructor analyze and introduce correction technique to solve fit issues.Issues discussed in class: How to check fit and make correction?
