1、连读 Liaisons1.元音及元音之间连读Linking vowels to vowels元音对元音连读实际上是在元音之间插入半元音j或w,从而使纯 元音音节之间过渡变得自然、流畅,读起来更加上口。半元音插入情况如 下:(1)前面单词以开元音,如e或i:结尾,紧随其后单词以元音开 头,这时,在两个单词之间出现半元音j作为过渡。(2)前面单词以闭元音,如u或。结尾,紧随其后单词以元音开头, 这时,在两个单词之间出现半元音昂作为过渡。(3)为了把两个相邻词连在一起,人们往往在以可或a:结尾词 后面加上r音,以便和后一个词起首元音连接,这种添加/r/称为“外 加音” r。Phrases:be on

There is nothing*Susan: Oh, SHUT UP!2 .辅音及元音之间连读Linking consonants to vowels这是狭义上连读,就是当前面单词以辅音结尾,紧随其后单词以元音 开头,这时将前面辅音同后面元音连在一起,像是构成一个音节一样读出 来,以使语言更具有流畅
6、自然特点。但是连读必须是发生在短语或句子同 一个意群中,在意群(及短语或从句)之间有停顿时,两个短语或两个从句 间相邻音不连读。一般来说有两种连读:(1)在同一意群中两个词,前者以辅音结尾,后者以元音开头,这两 个音就可以连起来读。(2)相邻两个词中,前一个以字母r结尾,后一个词以元音开始,辅 音/r/可及后面元音连读。这种连读叫“r连读”。knock atlook intotakeuptake a chancetake a back seattake a naptake a message to take advantageoftake airlook aboutlook out ofloo

Is our race so destitute of wisdom, so incapable of impartial love, so blind even to the simplest dictates of self-preservation, which the last proof of its silly cle
31、verness is to be the extermination of all life on our planet? for it will be not only men who will perish, but also the animals, whom no one can accuse of communism or anticommunism.I cannot believe that this is to be the end. I would have men forget their quarrels for a moment and reflect that, if
32、they will allow themselves to survive, there is every reason to expect the triumphs of the future to exceed immeasurably the triumphs of the past. There lies before us, if we choose, continual progress in happiness, knowledge, and wisdom. Shall we, instead, choose death, because we cannot forget our
33、 quarrels? I appeal, as a human being to human beings : remember your humanity, and forget the rest.
