However, _ in war_ they found their greatest use.然而,正是在战争的时候他们发现了它们最大的用途。考点梳理名词从句在复合句中起名词作用的从句叫名词从句(Noun Clauses)。名词从句的功能相当于名词词组, 它在复合句中能担任主语、宾语、表语、同位语、介词宾语等,因此根据它在句中不同的语法功能,名词从句又可分别称为主语从句、宾语从句、表语从句和同位语从句。 1. 名词性从句的引导词分类词形词义作从句中的成分连词that无无whether/if是否无连接副词when什么时间状语where什么地方状语how怎样,如何状语why为什么状语连接代词who(ever)(无论)谁(主格)主语、表语whom(ever)(无论)谁(宾格)宾语whose谁的(宾格)定语which(ever)(无论)哪一个主语、宾语、表语、定语what(ever)(无论)什么主语、宾语、表语、定语2. 名词性从句在功能上相当于名词3名词性从句考点归纳(1)名词性从句要求使用陈述句语序,不能用一般疑问句语序。他是怎么成功的仍然是个谜。How was he successful is still a puzzle. When he will go to America is not yet fixed. Whether shes coming or not doesnt matter too much. (not if )2. 宾语从句: 在复合句中作主句的宾语。 引导词有连词that (that 常可省略), whether, if; 代词有who, whose, what ,which; 副词 when ,where, how, why 等。e.g. We believe (that) he is honest. I asked if (=whether) they had a cheap suit. Can you tell which dictionary is hers? I really dont know what he is doing.3. 表语从句:在复合句中作主句的表语。引导词有连词that (that 不可省), whether; 代词有who, what, which; 副词 when, where, how, why 等。 e.g. The problem is that we didnt get in touch with him. This is how Henry solved the problem. His suggestion is that we (should) finish the work at once.注意:如果句子的主语是suggestion, advice. order 等名词时, 后面引导的表语从句用should+动词原形, should可省略。4. 同位语从句:在句中起同位语的作用。 一般放在名词 fact, news, idea, promise, thought, suggestion等之后, 用以说明或解释前面的名词。引导词有连词 that; 少数情况下也可用连接副词等。e.g. The thought that we might success excited us. The idea that they should try a second time is worth considering. The suggestion that the plan (should) be delayed will be discussed tomorrow. You have no idea how worried I was.注意:名词suggestion, advice, order等词后的同位语从句的谓语动词要用should+动词原形, should可省略。二、同位语从句和定语从句的区别:1. 定语从句是先行词的修饰语,它不涉及先行词的具体内容。定语从句中that不但起连接作用,而且在定语从句中充当一个句子成分,充当从句的宾语成分时可省略。2. 同位语从句对中心词的内容作进一步的解释和说明,表明中心词的具体内容。引导同位语从句的that在同位语从句中不做任何成分, 只起连接作用, 无具体含义, 且不可省略。We expressed the hope that they had expressed. (AT)We expressed the hope that they would come to China again. (AP)The information has been announced that more middle school graduates will be admitted into university. (AP)The information that he revealed at the meeting is of great value. (AT)三、 It的用法1. 代词代替上文提到的事物,或表示时间、距离、天气、季节、度量、价值等。My bag is missing. I cant find it anywhere.In summer it is often very hot, and in winter it is very cold.2. 引导词作形式主语或宾语,代替由不定式,动名词或从句所表示的真正主语或宾语。It is said that Mary is leaving for London tomorrow.据说玛丽明天要动身前往伦敦。I found it no use arguing with him.我发现和他辩论没有用。it 作形式主语的句型:It + be + adj. ( true, certain, possible, obvious, likely) thatIt + be +noun phrase (no wonder, an honour, a pity,) thatIt+ be + past participle (said, reported, expected, announced) thatIt + seems/appears that.It doesnt matter that 3. 用在强调句中为了强调句子的某一成分(通常是主语、宾语或状语),常用强调结构“It is/was +被强调成分+that/who + 其他”可译成:“是、正是、就是”。如果原句是将来时态或一般现在时,强调句用It is 如果原句是一般疑问句,强调句用Is/was it特殊疑问句只有疑问词可以强调,其强调结构为:疑问词+ is/was +it+ thatIt was Mathilde who lost her necklace at the palace ball last night.昨晚在皇宫舞会上丢了项链的是马蒂尔德。It was a book that I received yesterday.我昨天收到的是一本书。改写下列句子(强调划线部分)1.
