摘要 本论文从翻译美学角度对比许渊冲及伊兹拉庞德的中国古诗翻译实践，并 从目的论角度探讨两者在传递古诗之美过程中翻译目的的不同。 古诗是中国文化的瑰宝，是中国文化美的象征。因此，从某种角度而言，翻 译古诗即是翻译美，抑或传递美。 本文以现代翻译美学理论为依据，通过对比许渊冲及庞德的古诗翻译实践， 运用目的理论对两者在美的传递上形成的差异进行原因分析，得出结论认为，译 者只有紧随文化传播这面大旗，不断增加语言文化修养，提高文化文字审美情趣， 译作才可能历久弥新。 本论文由六个章节组成： 第一章为引言，简要介绍文章内容和结构。 第二章是文献回顾，共分三部分：第一部分介绍许渊冲及庞德的翻译思想： 第二部分介绍国内外其他诗歌翻译理论；第三部分试图阐述本文的理论框架一翻 译美学理论及目的论理论。 第三章以对比许渊冲及庞德翻译实例为基础，分析两者在传递诗歌形式美上 的差异，找出他们对待形式美各要素时的不同处理模式。 第四章对比两者翻译实例，从意向、意境等非形式美的传递角度考察许渊冲 和庞德在传递诗歌美上的差异。 第五章运用目的论探讨许渊冲及庞德翻译目的的不同，发现翻译目的差异可 能引起翻译策略的差异，进而导致同一源本的不同译本及不同审美体验。 第六章为结论，指出在翻译古诗这一审美活动中，译者应对审美客体有充分
