摘要 课堂提问历史久远，在课堂教学中有重要作用。教师通过提问引导、组织学生积极 参与各种课堂交际活动，为学生创造交流信息、表达思想的环境和机会，使学生通过交 际促进语言学习。 目前对教师课堂提问的研究大多集中在特征的描述上。然而从大学英语教师课堂提 问和学生对教师提问的期待方面做的研究较少。鉴于此，本文通过课堂观察、问卷调查 和访谈对大学英语教师课堂提问的特征和学生对教师提问的期待进行研究，并就如何改 进课堂提问提出了自己的建议。 本文的研究对象为中国石油大学五位大学英语教师及他们所教的五个非英语专业 班级的2 9 2 名学生。作者通过听课，录音和文字记录从提问类型、回答方式、提问策略、 等候时间和反馈方式方面来分析每一位教师的一篇精读课文讲解中的提问。为了了解学 生对教师提问的期待和要求，在听课之后，对其中两个班的学生进行问卷调查，并对八 个学生进行访谈，作为补充。 通过定性分析和定量分析，结果显示在多数大学英语教师的课堂中，展示型问题多 于参阅型问题，而大多数学生偏好参阅型问题。在回答方式上，教师和学生对教师自问 自答都持否定态度。教师使用比较多的策略为提示，这也是学生比较喜欢的提问策略。 为了能更充分的考虑问题，学生希望教师能延长等待时间。在反馈方面，学生期望教师 提供更为详细的解释和评论。而且大部分学生表示能够接受教师的明确纠错。 希望本文的研究结果能够帮助教师更加有效的提问，更好地促进大学英语课堂中的 师生互动，提高大学英语课堂教学效果。 关键词：教师提问，学生期待，等待时间，反馈 a s t u d y0 1 1c h i n e s ec o l l e g ee n g
