（外国语言学及应用语言学专业论文）翻译研究的伦理层面批评.pdf

摘要 本论文从伦理的角度对以往的主要翻译理论进行了元批评式的分 析，并且指出在全球化背景下，翻译研究呈现出伦理转向的趋势。 在规定性的翻译研究阶段，工具理性和科学主义影响着自然科学和 人文科学的各个领域。在翻译研究领域，翻译研究者对翻译持有实用主 义的态度。一方面，他们认为文本是一个客观存在物，原作有一个固定不 变的原意，它不随时间、空间的变换而改变。只要译者能在译作中忠实 地体现这个原意，翻译就成功地完成了使命。同时他们也认为，掌握原 文的语言规律就是译者挖掘原意的途径，而掌握译文的语言规律就是译 者再现原意的途径，翻译就是两种语言之间互相转换的行为。另一方面， 研究者们又把这个固定不变的客观原意等同于译者在一定的历史语境 中，为了达到一定的目的对原作的主观解读，其价值在于满足译者或其 客户的某种目的，翻译实践只是达到这种目的的途径。为了满足一定的 目的，对原文的增删被视为合理之举。在这一阶段，翻译研究考察的是 如何能使译者翻译出达到目的的好作品，而不是如何合理对待原文泽文 或者本国文化外国文化的问题。因此，宏观上来看，规定性的翻译研究 主要考察的是翻译中语言层面的转化规律，并没有涉及到伦理层面。这 种伦理考虑的缺失一直延续到文化翻译研究阶段尤其是解构主义翻译研 究阶段。 在解构主义翻译研究阶段，在价值理性和人文主义的关怀下，语言 不再被认为是一种对外在世界命名的符号，而被当作一种人类的存在方 式。在语言的世界里，人类的意识形态和价值观念被逐渐建构起来。所 以人类可以通过分析语言现象来审视自身的生存状况，并通过相应的措 施来完善自身以及外在世界。文本也不再是传递作者意图的媒介，而是 具有了自己的独特价值。正如德里达所说“文本言说着自身，文本之外 无他物”。所以译者在翻译时，并不是处于一个价值中立的场所，而需要 考虑如何对待文本，如何对待自我与他者等诸如此类的问题。其翻译的 过程就是选择的过程，取舍之间就体现了译者对于外国文化与本国文化 的伦理态度。随着全球化进程以及大众传媒的高度发达，不同文化之间 的交流日益紧密。作为一种跨文化交流的方式，翻译起到越来越重要的 作用。在全球化背景下，对不同文化应该持有何种态度成为译者首要解 决的问题。对于译者责任与义务的探讨与规范就势必成为翻译研究的一 个核心问题。翻译研究也就从语言、文化层面的考察过度到伦理层面的 考察。 本文同时也指出译者应该担当起使价值观念不同的文化得到广泛传 播的使命。在全球化背景下，尤其应该对第三世界国家的文化给予更多 的重视。在翻译时，他们应该在头脑中保存两套独立的语言、文化标准， 并且互不干扰地在这两套系统中进行转换。这样，译者的责任和义务也 从单纯的原文和译文转换中脱离出来，他们所遵循的伦理规则也从简单
