1、MTBE FINISHING REACTOR STARTUP FROM T&INOTE: This is for Training only, and is not intended to be used as a step by step procedure.PO/MTBEMTBE Finishing Reactor Startup From T&IPurposeThe purpose of this procedure is to prepare the MTBE Finishing Reactor to receive feed from upstream equipment follo
2、wing maintenance.ConditionsThe MTBE Finishing Reactor has been repaired and the equipment is ready to return to service.NOTE: Air or oxygen can form a potentially explosive mixture with hydrocarbons, therefore, nitrogen purge all process lines and equipment to atmosphere until process lines and equi
3、pment is less than 3% oxygen. Do not nitrogen purge to the blowdown system or the flare system.NOTE: This is for Training only, and is not intended to be used as a step by step procedure.PO/MTBEGUIDELINEEnsure the following items are completed: all pump suction and discharge valves are open. all con
4、trol valves are lined up with closed control valves. all control valve bypasses are closed. the column and associated equipment instrumentation has been connected and ready for service. all insulation is in place for personal protection. all control valves have been verified for proper operation. al
5、l isolation blinds have been turned to the proper operating position as perthe Visual Inspection Blind Removal Procedure. all utility connections have been turned away from the vessels, blocked in on the vessel and blinded. the column and associated equipment has been purged of oxygen as perthe Oxyg
6、en Removal of Process Equipment procedure. the column and associated equipment has been pressure tested as per the Tightness Testing of Process Equipment procedure. Ensure the MTBE Finishing Reactor Feed Filters 01S0520-A/B and MTBE Finishing Reactor Effluent Filters 01S0521-A/B have filter elements
7、 installed. Catalyst has been loaded in the MTBE Finishing Reactor 01R0596 and ready for operation. Verify all block valves are in proper operating position on the MTBE FinishingReactor 01R0596.Verify the MTBE Recovery Column Overhead system has been properly lined up using the following: Block in t
8、he upstream block valve on control valve FV-05019 from the MTBE Recovery Overhead Pump 01P0541-A/B. Open the downstream block valve on control valve FV-57107. Open the valves that tie the MTBE Recovery overhead into the MTBE Finishing Reactor Effluent to the MEOH Extractor Column. Block in the valve
9、 from the MTBE Recovery Column overhead to the MTBE Finishing Reactor Feed Filters 01S0520-A/B. Block in the block valve from the MTBE Recovery Column overhead tying into the IBE line from the Isobutylene Recycle Booster Pumps 01P0543-A/B.Isobutylene From 01P0543-A/B To The Finishing Reactor: Block
10、in the upstream block valve on the control valve FV-57707 from the discharge of the Reactor Recycle Isobutylene Pumps 01P0543-A/B. Open the downstream block valve on control valve FV-57707. Open the valve to the MTBE Finishing Reactor Feed Filter 01S0520-A/B from 01P0543-A/B. Block in the valve to t
11、he MTBE One-Step Reactors Feed Filters 01S0511-A/B from 01P0543-A/B. Open the block valve on IBE to the MTBE Finishing Reactor Feed Filter01S0520-A/B. Open the inlet and outlet valves to the MTBE Finishing Reactor Feed Filter 01S0520-A/B. Open the (2) valves from the outlet of 01S0520-A/B filters to
12、 the bottom distribution header of the MTBE Finishing Reactor 01R0596. Open the (2) valves from the top distribution header to the MTBE Finishing Reactor Effluent Filter 01S0521-A/B. The Finishing Reactor is in the up flow mode. Open the inlet and outlet block valves on the MTBE Finishing ReactorEff
13、luent Filter 01S0521-A/B. Open the valve that ties into the MTBE Finishing Reactor Effluent with the MTBE Recovery Column overhead to the MEOH Extractor.Fresh Methanol To The Finishing Reactor: Open the suction and discharge block valves on the Supplemental MeOH Feed Pumps 01P0537-A/B. Open the upst
14、ream and downstream block valves on the flow meter FE- 56902 from the discharge of 01P0537-A/B. Open the upstream and downstream block valves on the methanol feed control valve FV-56902 to the Finishing Reactor. Open the upstream and downstream block valves to the methanol kickback control valve FV-
15、56902K from the discharge of 01P0537-A/B. Open the block valve that ties in the methanol from 01P0537-A/B pumps discharge to the Isobutylene feed from 01P0543-A/B.Finishing Reactor Circulation Loop: Open the block valves from the effluent line from the Finishing Reactor after the 01S0521-A/B filters
16、 to the MTBE Finishing Reactor Recycle Cooler 01E0538. Open the upstream and downstream block valves on the temperature control valve TV- 59601B upstream of 01E0538. Open the upstream and downstream block valves on the bypass temperature controller TV-59601C. Open the cooling water supply and return
17、 valves on 01E0538. Open the suction and discharge valves on the MTBE Finishing Reactor Recycle Pumps01P0533-A/B. Open the upstream and downstream block valves on the kickback control valve FV- 59607K from the discharge of 01P0533-A/B. Open the upstream and downstream block valves on the recirculati
18、on control valve FV- 59607 from the discharge of 01P0533-A/B. Open the block valve from the recirculation loop to the inlet to 01S0520-A/B filters. Verify the nitrogen is blocked in to the top of the Finishing Reactor. Connect nitrogen hoses and remove oxygen from the MTBE Finishing Reactor 01R0596
19、system. Pressure test MTBE Finishing Reactor 01R0596 system.NOTE: WHEN TBA FEED RATE REACHES APPROXIMATELY 75% OF NORMAL RATE STARTUP THE MTBE FINISHING REACTOR. THE MTBE FINISHING REACTOR WILL BE INVENTORIED WITH LIQUID FROM THE MTBE RECOVERY OVERHEAD SYSTEM FOR STARTUP.MTBE RECOVERY OVERHEAD PRODU
20、CT IS USED TO REDUCE THE CHANCES OF RUNAWAY REACTION OCCURRING IN THE FINISHING REACTOR DURING STARTUP. IF EXCESS ISOBUTYLENE IS FED TO THE MTBE FINISHING REACTOR IT CAN RUNAWAY CAUSING HIGH TEMPERATURE IN THE REACTOR. Verify the block valve downstream of 01S0521-A/B filter is blocked in, this valve
21、 is located downstream of the check valve on MTBE Finishing Reactor effluent to the Methanol Extractor feed line. Open the upstream block valve on the control valve FV-57707 from the discharge of the Reactor Recycle Isobutylene Pumps 01P0543-A/B. Crack open the block valve from the MTBE Recovery Col
22、umn overhead tying into the IBE line from the Isobutylene Recycle Booster Pumps 01P0543-A/B. This will supply hydrocarbon feed from the MTBE Recovery Column overhead system via the discharge line of 01P0541-A/B. Reactor system should be filled slowly to avoid severely robbing MTBE Recovery Column ov
23、erhead product flow to the Methanol Extractor. To vent nitrogen from system, open as needed the by- pass around PSV on top of MTBE Finishing Reactor. Reactor and associated piping will be filling from discharge of 01P0541-A/B. Monitor reactor pressure, high-pressure flare flow, and finishing reactor
24、 temperatures to determine when reactor is full. Temperatures and pressures will rise as level rises. Once reactor and associated equipment are determined to be full.Close the by-pass around overhead PSV. Line up reactor in down flow mode by performing the following on 01R0596 MTBE Finishing Reactor
25、: OPEN VALVE #1 on bottom of reactor. OPEN VALVE #3 on bottom of reactor. CLOSE VALVE #2 on bottom of reactor. OPEN VALVE #5 on top of reactor. OPEN VALVE #4 on top of reactor. CLOSE VALVE #6 on top of reactor.Place the following controllers in the described position: TC-59607 in auto/local with set
26、 point as determined by MTBE Finishing Reactor Operation and Operating variables. TC-59601 in auto/local with set point as determined by MTBE Finishing Reactor Operation and Operating variables. FC-56902 in auto/local with set point as determined by MTBE Finishing Reactor Operation and Operating var
27、iables. FC-56902K in auto/local with set point as determined by MTBE Finishing Reactor Operation and Operating variables. Start MTBE Finishing Reactor Recirculation Pump 01P0533-A/B. Monitor reactor recycle flow and reactor temperatures. Open the block valve downstream of 01S0521-A/B filter allowing reactor effluent to flow into the Methanol Extractor, this valve is located downstream of the check valve on MTBE Finishing Reactor effluent to the Methanol Extractor feed line.
