probleminmodernsociety.Amarriageisacontract.Youcanwrite

thatcontractyourself.Nowyoucanalsochoosebetweentwo

prefabricatedcontracts,eachwithverydifferentprovisionsfor

divorce.Thefirstoptionissimilartotheno-faultcontract.The

second--theso-called〃covenantmarriage〃-makesdivorcefarmore

difficult.

Evenifyouneverdivorce,yourchoiceamongcontractscanaffect

theentirecourseofyourmarriage.That'sbecausethepossibilityof

divorcealtersyourincentivestokeepyourspousehappy.Ofcourse,

youmightwanttokeepyourspousehappyforotherreasons,themost

notableofwhichislove.Sometimes,loveisallyouneed.But

becausewe'retalkingaboutdivorcelaw,Iwanttofocusoncases

enough).Youmightthinkthatno-faultmarriagesarealwaysthemost

likelytoendindivorce.Thatisn,ttrue,andhere,sonereasonwhy:
