Denmark,forexample,alreadymeetsabout20percentofitselectricity
demandfromwindpower.Windgenerationalsoaccountsforaboutsix
percentofthenationalpowerneedsinSpain,andfivepercentinGermany.
Seriouscommitmentstoreducingglobalwarmingemissions,local
development,andthedeterminationtoavoidfuelimportshavebeenthe
primarydriversofwindpowerdevelopmentinEurope.
TheWindResource
Thewindresourcehowfastitblows,howoften,andwhenplaysasignificant
roleinitspowergenerationcost.Thepoweroutputfromawindturbinerises
