Paris2024wantedtocreatecontinuitybetweenthemedalandthepodium,thesetwosymbolsofperformancethatdefinetheidentityoftheGamesandtheprideofthehostcountry.ThedesignoftheOlympicandParalympicpodiumspodiumsisdirectlyinspiredbythemetallaceoftheEiffelTower,whichisalsofoundinotherGustaveEiffel’sworkssuchasthebridges.ThelinesandcurvesthatadorntheirfaçadeareanextensionofthemetalarchesthatmaketheworkofGustaveEiffeluniqueanditsassociationwithParisandFranceworldwide.ThegraysurfaceofthepodiumreferstothefamousParisianrooftops,takingthemedalliststotheskiesaboveParisinasymbolicway.Thechoiceofsobercolors(grayandoff-white)andasleekdesignaimstoharmonisethepodiumwiththecolorfulandfestiveLookoftheGames,aswellasthecolorsoftheofficialuniformsofeachdelegation.
