questions.Halfoftheresponsestothesequestionsweregivenbyhumans,whiletheotherhalfcame

fromChatGPT.Participantsthenhadtoidentifytheoriginofeachresponseandratetheirtrustinthe

chatbofsanswersfromacompletelyuntrustworthynto44completelytrustworthyv.Participantscouldonly

correctlyidentifychatbot-givenresponses65.5%ofthetime.Participantsdisplayedthemosttrustin

chatbotswhenhandlingthematters,suchasschedulingappointmentsoraddressinginsurance

enquiries,withanaveragetrustscoreof3.94.Preventativecarequestions,likecancerscreenings,came

nextat3.52.However,trustdecreasedfordiagnostic(诊断)andtreatmentadvice,registeringscoresof

2.90and2.89respectively.

Thestudy'sresultsindicatethepotentialchatbotspossessinaidingpatient-provider

communications,especiallyinareaslikeadministrativetasks.Butscientistshavesomethingtosay

regardingchatbotsassumingmoreclinicalroles."Providersshouldexercisepickyjudgmentwhenit

comestochatbot-givenadviceduetothelimitationsofAImodels,“researcherssaidinastatement.

TheuseofAIintohealthcareisnolongeradistantpossibilitybutarapidlyevolvingreality.This
