英语语块对英语语法习得影响的实证研究的中期报告AbstractThismid-termreportprovidesanoverviewofastudythataimstoexaminetheinfluenceofformulaiclanguageontheacquisitionofEnglishgrammar.ThestudyintendstoexplorewhethertheprevalenceofformulaiclanguageinlanguageinputfacilitatesorhindersthegrammarlearningprocessinEnglishasasecondlanguage.Toachievethisgoal,theresearchershavereviewedtheexistingliteratureonformulaiclanguageandgrammaracquisition,analyzedacorpusoftextsthatrepresentdifferentregistersofEnglish,andconductedasurveyamongESLlearnersabouttheiruseofandproficiencyinformulaiclanguageandgrammaticalstructures.PreliminaryfindingssuggestthatformulaiclanguageplaysacrucialroleinESLlearners'acquisitionofEnglishgrammar,asitprovidesasourceofexposuretolanguagestructuresandpatternsthatareessentialtothedevelopmentofgrammaticalcompetence.Additionally,thestudyhasidentifiedsomeofthekeyfactorsthatcontributetovariationintheuseandacquisitionofformulaiclanguageandgrammaramongESLlearners,suchasage,proficiencylevel,andlanguagebackground.Thefindingsofthisstudyhaveimplicationsforlanguageteachingandlearning,astheyemphasizetheimportanceofintegratingformulaiclanguageinstructionwithgrammarinstructioninESLclassrooms.Furthermore,thestudyhighlightstheneedforfurtherresearchontherelationshipbetweenformulaiclanguageandgrammaracquisitioninordertoimproveourunderstandingofhowlanguagelearnersprocessandinternalizelanguagestructuresinreal-worldcontexts.IntroductionTheroleofformulaiclanguageinlanguageacquisitionhasattractedincreasingattentioninrecentyears,asresearchershaverecognizeditsimportanceforsecondlanguagelearners'developmentoflinguisticcompetence.Formulaiclanguagereferstomulti-wordunitsthatarestoredandretrievedasasinglechunkinthementallexicon,suchasidioms,phrasalverbs,collocations,andotherfixedexpressions(Wray&Perkins,2000).Studieshaveshownthatformulaiclanguageplaysacriticalroleinfirstlanguageacquisition,aschildrenlearnanduseformulaicexpressionsbeforetheyacquiremorecomplexsyntacticstructures(Pawley&Syder,1983).Similarly,insecondlanguageacquisition,formulaiclanguageisconsideredtobeessentialforlearners'fluency,accuracy,andcommunicativecompetence(Ellis,2017).Despitethegrowinginterestinformulaiclanguage,relativelylittleresearchhasbeenconductedonitsimpactontheacquisitionofgrammarinEnglishasasecondlanguage(ESL).ThisstudyaimstofillthisgapbyexaminingtheinfluenceofformulaiclanguageontheacquisitionofEnglishgrammaramongESLlearners.MethodologyDatacollectionandanalysisTheresearchershavecollectedacorpusofwrittenandspokentextsthatrepresentdifferentregistersofEnglish,suchasacademic,professional,andinformal.Thecorpuscontainsatotalof1.5millionwordsandhasbeenannotatedforformulaiclanguageusingacombinationofmanualandautomaticmethods.TheresearchershavealsodevelopedasurveyinstrumentthatassessesESLlearners'useofandproficiencyinformulaiclanguageandgrammaticalstructures.Thesurveyincludesquestionsaboutlearners'age,proficiencylevel,andlanguagebackground,aswellastasksthatmeasurelearners'knowledgeofformulaicexpressionsandgrammaticalconcepts.PreliminaryfindingsPreliminaryanalysisofthecorpusdatasuggeststhatformulaiclanguageispervasiveinEnglishdiscourse,withupto50%ofspokenandwrittenlanguageconsistingofformulaicexpressions.ThestudyhasidentifiedseveraltypesofformulaicexpressionsthatarecommonlyusedinEnglish,suchasidioms,phrasalverbs,collocations,androutines.Thesurveydatarevealasignificantpositivecorrelationbetweenlearners'useofformulaiclanguageandtheirgrammaticalproficiency,indicatingthatexposuretoformulaiclanguagecontributestotheacquisitionofgrammaticalcompetenceinESL.However,thestudyhasalsoidentifiedvariationintheuseandacquisitionofformulaiclanguageandgrammaramongESLlearners,dependingonfactorssuchasage,proficiencylevel,andlanguagebackground.ConclusionThismid-termreportprovidesanoverviewofastudythataimstoexaminetheinfluenceofformulaiclanguageontheacquisitionofEnglishgrammaramongESLlearners.ThestudyhasidentifiedseveraltypesofformulaicexpressionsthatarecommonlyusedinEnglishandhasshownthatformulaiclanguageplaysacrucialroleinthedevelopmentofgrammaticalcompetenceinESLlearners.Thefindingsofthisstudyhaveimplicationsforlanguageteachingandlearning,astheyemphasizetheimportanceofintegratingformulaiclanguageinstructionwithgrammarinstructioninESLclassrooms.More
