straightonpuiposetomakethejourneytimeasshortaspossible.

Intheirstudy,thescientistsfoundthatRomanroaddensitywaslinkedtogreater

economicactivityin2010.“Theredoesseemtobealinkbetweenthelocationof

ancientroadsandeconomicactivitytoday,9,theysaid.Theconnection,however,was

notasstronginnorthAfricaduetoamovefromwheeledtransporttocamel

caravans.

Today,preservationofRomanroadsacrosstheworldvaries.InBritain,someare

stilleasilyvisible.FamousRomanroadsincludeWatlingStreet,whichranfrom

LondontoChester,andtheFosseWay,whichcrossedfromExetertoLincoln.
