Play"ConsonantBingo".Forthisgame,youwillneedbingocards,atleastoneforeachstudentinyourclass,andsomemarkers,forexample,coins,beans,beads,plasticchips,etc.Tomakethebingocards,drawagridwithfourorfiveboxesacrossandthesamenumberofboxesdown.WritealltheconsonantscoveredintheGetReadyunitsintheboxesofthecards:p,b,t,d,c,k,g,f,u,10,m,n,s,2,l,r,h,j,qu,x.Makesurethateachcardisunique.ThenmakealistofvocabularywordsfromtheGetReadyunits.
Inclass,giveacardandsomemarkerstoeachstudent.Explainthatyouaregoingtosayaword,forexamplehome.Studentsshouldlistenandidentifytheconsonantsintheword(handm).Iftheyhavetheconsonantorconsonantsontheirbingocard,theyshouldputamarkeronthatconsonantorthoseconsonants.Thestudentwhofillsuphiscardfirst,yells"Bingo!"Thestudentthenmustsaytheconsonantsonhisorhercard.Ifalltheconsonantsonthecardwerecontainedinthewords,thatstudentisthewinner.Ifnot,continueplayinguntil
