runoutof是“动词+副词+介词”的短语of后接宾语,主语通常是表示“人”的名词,也可用于某种能消耗物品的机器等。意为“……用完了……”。相当于useup“用完、耗尽”,句子的主语只能是人。注意不能用于被动语态。runoutof也可表示“从……跑出来”的意思。

例句:我的纸用完了。

Thedogranoutoftheroom.辨析:runout是“动词+副词”结构的不及物动词短语,意为“用完,用尽”,主语通常是表示“时间、金钱”等无生命的东西。sth.run(s)out表示“某物用尽了、用完了”。如:我们的食物快吃完了。Ourfoodwillsoonrunout.

takeafter意为“像;与……相像”,指由于血缘关系而(在外貌、性格、行为等方面)与某个长辈相像。其中after是介词,后常接名词或代词。和besimilarto意义接近。besimilarto“与...类似”一般都是在相近似的物品和情境的对比上。【拓展】looklike指长相(外表上)“看起来像”。
