ThepopulationofthecountryasofAugust1,2023amountedto19921.4thousandpeople,includingurban–12342.3thousand(62.0%),rural–7579.1thousand(38.0%)people.

InJanuary-July2023,comparedtoJanuary-July2022,thenumberofarrivalsinKazakhstanincreasedby83.5%,thenumberofdeparturesfromKazakhstandecreasedby41.2%.

ThemainmigrationexchangeofthecountrytakesplacewiththeCIScountries.TheshareofarrivalsfromtheCIScountriesanddeparturestothesecountriesamountedto88.6%and77.5%,respectively.

Thenumberofmigrantsmovingwithinthecountryincreasedby16.4%.Intermsofinterregionalmovements,apositivenetmigrationofpopulationhasdevelopedin3regionsofthecountry:thecitiesofAstana(21756people),Almaty(19788people)andShymkent(1255people).

Statisticsofprices

TheconsumerpriceindexinAugust2023comparedtoJuly2023was100.7%.Pricesforpaidservicesincreasedby1.9%,non–foodproducts–by0.5,andfoodproducts-remainedunchanged.

Themaincontributiontoinflationwasmadebytheincreaseinutilitytariffs.Sanitationhasriseninpriceby18%,coldwater–by13.1%,hotwater–by7.8%,electricity–by6.7%,gastransportedthroughdistributionnetworks–by5.5%,garbagecollec-tion,housingmaintenance–by1.3%.Pricesforpublictransporthaveincreasedby7.5%,cellularservices–by2.8%.Pricesforairpassengertransportservicesdecreasedby19.6%,rail–by0.2%.

TheincreaseinpricesinAugustwasobservedforasatchel,astudentbackpackby5.9%,children'sclothingandshoes–by2.9%.Comparedtolastmonth,pricesforAI-95/96gasolineincreasedby3.9%,AI-98gasoline–by1.9%,liquefiedgasincylinders–by1.4%.

Ofthefoodproducts,ricepricesare2.1%higher,pork–by1.2%,cannedmilk–by1.1%,drinkingmilk,beef–by0.6%.Theincreaseinpriceswasnotedformineralanddrinkingwaterby1.4%,softdrinks–by1%,tobaccoproducts–by0.8%.Freshveg-etablesfellinpriceby6.1%,potatoes–by4%,sunfloweroil–by2.3%,buckwheatgroats–by2%,granulatedsugar-by1.8%.

InAugust2023,comparedwiththepreviousmonth,thepriceindexofproducersofagriculturalproductsamountedto99.1%,cropproduction-98.8%,livestockproducts–100%.Pricesforbuckwheatdecreasedby3.6%,wheat–by2.7%,flaxseeds–by0.7%,barley-by0.6%,driedlentils–by0.5%andforhayincreasedby0.7%.Tomatoesoftheclosedgroundfellinpriceby3.7%,cucumbersoftheclosedground–by3%,peppers–by0.9%andtomatoesandcucumbersoftheopengroundroseinprice-by1.5%,bulbonions–by0.6%,tablebeet–by0.4%.Watermelonsroseinprice-by0.5%,melons–by0.1%.Pricesforcattlein-creasedby0.7%,sheeps–by0.5%,andpoultrymeatdecreasedby1.1%.Rawmilkroseinpriceby0.4%.

PricesofmanufacturingenterprisesforindustrialproductsinAugust2023increasedby1.7%comparedtothepreviousmonth.Oilpriceswerehigherby4.9%,metalores–by3.5%,coallowerby0.7%.Ofpetroleumproducts,gasolineroseby3%,fueloil–by0.3%,propaneandbutaneliquefiedfellby0.5%.Anincreaseinpriceswasnotedforleadby6.7%,preciousmetals–by2.8%,copper–by1.4%,forzinc–adecreaseby8.5%,rolledferrousmetals–by2.7%,aluminum–by1.3%,ferroalloys–by0.7%.Fromfoodproducts,pastafellby2%,vegetableoil–by1.7%,cereals–by1.5%,wheatflour–by0.5%,rice–by0.4%,sug-ar–by0.3%,tearoseby0.6%,livestockandpoultrymeat–by0.5%.

Intheservicesector,tariffsforthecarriageofgoodsbyallmodesoftransportinAugust2023comparedtoJuly2023in-creasedby0.3%,tariffsforcommunicationservices,postalandcourierserviceshavenotchanged.

InAugust2023,comparedtothepreviousmonth,thepriceindexinconstructionamountedto100.3%,forconstructionandinstallationwork–100.4%,formachineryandequipment–99.6%,forotherworkandcosts–98.7%.

InJanuary-August2023,thevolumeofinvestmentsinfixedcapitalamountedto9649.7billiontenge,whichis12.2%morethaninJanuary-August2022.

Thepredominantsourcesofinvestmentfinancingremaintheownfundsofeconomicentities,thevolumeofwhichinJanu-ary-August2023amountedto7328.6billiontenge.

InJanuary-August2023,comparedwithJanuary-August2022,thereisanincreaseсostsforthepurchaseofmachinery,equip-mentandvehiclesandtheircapitalrepairsby23.5%.

AsignificantshareofinvestmentsinfixedcapitalinJanuary-August2023accountedforminingandquarrying(31.3%),opera-tionswithrealestate(18.7%),transportandwarehousing(12.4%)andmanufacturingindustry(8.4%).

AsofSeptember1,2023,thevolumeofcommoditystocksoftradingenterprises(forreportingenterprises)inretailtradeamountedto1484.4billiontenge,intradingdays-66days.

Theshareoffoodproductsinthetotalvolumeofretailtradeis31.2%,non-foodproducts–68.8%.ThevolumeofsalesoffoodproductscomparedtoJanuary-August2022decreasedby7.4%,non-foodproductsincreasedby15.6%.

ThelargestamountofworkinJanuary-August2023wasperformedontheconstructionoffacilities(1606.2billiontenge),non-residentialbuildings(1356.4billiontenge),andresidentialbuildings(559.2billiontenge).

ThevolumeofconstructionandinstallationworkinJanuary-August2023comparedtoJanuary-August2022increasedby10.1andamountedto2991.3billiontenge.Thevolumeofconstructionworkoncapitalrepairsincreasedby39.6%comparedtothecorrespondingperiodlastyear,whileoncurrentrepairsitincreasedby1.5%.

InJanuary-August2023,theconstructionof23970newbuildingswascompleted,ofwhich22631areresidentialand1339arenon-residen-tial.
