WhentheresearchersnextaskedwhethertheactivityofthemPFCneuronswasassociatedwithbehavior,theyfoundsomethingsurprising.Thebrainactivitypatternswerelinkedwithslightchangesinbehavior,suchashowfastamousemoved,andtheyalsocouldpredict—afull30secondsbeforethecompetitionstarted—whichmousewouldwinthefoodreward.
