其实,分析认为,作为一种国际性的考试,雅思索试的阅读并没有那么多的“玄学”,由于每套题目都遵循一个标准出炉,意味着经过TestingPanel验证后合格的考题总体上应当是在一个难度水平线上的。我们完全没有必要在这点上大做文章。但为何有的考生言之凿凿地声称的确某一篇比其他的更难呢?

笔者认为,中国考生由于不是将英语作为nativelanguage,那么在词汇、阅读力量、速度有限的状况下,文章主题的熟识度和背景学问的多寡直接就会造成考生对于特定考试文章的难度主观感觉,这其实也解释了为什么对于同一次考试,同一篇文章,英语水平其实差异不大的不同几个考生会对文章难度有着迥然不同的看法。这种现象其实在网络回忆文字中屡见不鲜。

所以,更理性的一种做法是,一方面考试要正视考题的客观难度稳定性,另一方面又要乐观地实行方式避开或至少减小文章的主观难度的负面影响。老师建议:

考生在接到考场指令打开试卷的第一时间用最短的时间(尽量不超过一分钟)skim全卷

结合总体印象、最明显的重复用词,以及可能会有的全文标题、段落/小节标题、插图等全部可借助的信息

根据个人对主题的熟识度、感爱好的程度重新支配全卷的先后做题挨次

这样处理后,该次考试的Passage1/2/3就不再是考生手中questionbooklet所标明的挨次,而是“主观上”对该考生而言,根据难度系数递增的挨次排列的Passage1/2/3,而先完成的就是考生感觉最有信念,最“亲切”的文章,也就是“最简洁”的文章。

请留意,在雅思索试这样的时间和题量设置框架下,大部分考生的考场心理状态极大程度上影响了最终水平发挥的结果。因此建议考生在考前综合模拟测试中,在对完整一套题目的总体解题sequencing方面,不妨实践和熟识这样的操作,以在将来实际考试中有一个更好的startingpoint。

必需指出,本文所争论的问题是针对AcademicReading而言的。对于GeneralTrainingReading,由于其三个Section中前两个都只是几篇短文,而第三个是类同AcademicReading的长文,明显存在着阅读量和难度的差异,所以一般而言不存在section之间重新sequencing的问题。
