我是一个欢乐男孩。我有很多爱好，比如体育运动，弹钢琴，唱歌，画画等。

旅游是我的最爱。我去过不少地方，如北京，海南，重庆，广西，青岛，大连等。

Lastmonth,IhappenedtowatchaninterviewofaChinesestudentstudyingabroad.Atonepointthehostessasked:"Forhowlonghaveyoubeenawayfromhome?""Threeyears,"hesaid."Howdoyoukeepintouchwithyourparents?""Wewroteemails,"theyoungmanrepliedproudly."ThenIguessyourparentslearnedhowtosendanemailjustbecauseofyou,right?"Havingheardthisfromthehostess,theyoungmanwasspeechlessforalongtime.Indeed,intheworldtoday,itisnoteasyfortheeldergenerationtokeepuptodatewiththerapiddevelopmentoftechnology.

ThisstoryremindedmeofmyconcernswhenIfirstlefthomeforcollegethreeyearsago:Myparentsdon'tunderstandEnglish.Theycouldn'tidentifythebuttonsmarkedinEnglishonourremotecontrols.SowhenIwasawayfromhome,whowouldhelpthemselectChinesesubtitleswhentheywantedtowatchaforeignmovieonourDVD?Myparentsdon'tusepinyin,thephoneticsymbolsforChinese.Therefore,theycouldn'tinputChinesecharactersintotheircellphonesusingthekeyboard.Withoutme,whomcouldtheydependonwhentheyneededtoreplytoate*tmessage?Iworriedalot,sobeforeIleft,IcarefullypreparedaflowchartonhowtooperatetheDVDplayer,andstoredasmanytemplatemessagesinmyparents'phonesasIcouldpossiblythinkof.

Fortunately,myeffortsdidworkformyparents.However,whatmakesmemoreoptimisticisthatsocietyatlargeisbecomingmoreconcernedabouttheeldergeneration,andthefruitoftechnologicalinnovationisnolongerbelievedtobeanassetonlyfortheyoungpeople.Today,withsimpleChineseinstructionsontheremotecontrol,evenmy80-year-oldgrandfathercanplayhisfavoriteTVprogramonaDVD.Lastyear,withthemoneyIearnedfromapart-timejob,Iboughtmymotheranewcellphonewhichsupportshandwrittenmessagesinsteadofinputtingwordsthroughakeyboard.Andnow,mymothernolongerhastousethetemplatesmessagesI'vestoredforher,instead,shenowsendsmemessagesaslongas300words.ThejoyIhavewhenreadingthosete*tmessagesisine*pressible,notonlybecauseofthewordsshewrites,butalsobecauseourtechnologyhasindeedbecomearealblessinginherlife.

Twoyearsago,thecounterserviceinourneighborhoodbankwasreplacedbyanATMstation.Withthoseintelligentmachines,peoplecancarryoutalltheirregularbankingservices.Myfather,however,wasnotusedtosuchachange.Thereafter,healwayswalkedthreeblocksfurthertoabankwithacountertousetheirservices.Inthefuture,however,thiswillnolongerhappen,becausewhenIwenttothatATMstationagainlastspringfestival,Ifoundadelightfulchange:theterminalstherehaveadoptedavoiceguidancesystem.WhileIwasthere,Inoticedagreyhairedmanusingthevoiceinstructions.Anddespitehishesitationbetweenpressingthebuttons,heleftthebankwithasatisfactorysmile.Whatamarvel!Myvisionforthefuturewasunfoldingbeforemyveryeyes.Atthatmoment
