ABCDEFGMainreferencePYX17CVI550DKS045DD(SeeChapter10)ScheduleofogueSensingElementsPYX17CVIN09DKS045DD(SeeChapter9.3)ScheduleofOn/OffSensingElementsPYX17CVIT09DKS045DD(SeeChapter9.3)ScheduleofElectricActuatorsPYX17CVIE09DKS045DD(SeeChapter9.3)ogueCONTROLThissystemcontainsthevacuumraisingequipmentforthetwomaincondensers.Itprovidesthevacuummeasuringequipmenttoensuresafeoperationoftheturbineandthevacuumbreakingvalvetopermitairtoenterthecondenserswhenrequiredafterturbinetrip.AirAirextractionequipmentcomprises3setsofairpumps,eachconsistingofaseparator,sealwaterpump,asealwatercoolerandanairextractionpump.Eachsetisdisconnectedfromtheairextractionmainbyanairextractionvalvewhichopensonlywhenitspumpsetisoperating,andthevalvedifferentialpressureisbelowsetvalue.Thenumberofpumpsinoperationisselectedbythecontrolroomoperator,butduringvacuumraisingallthreeairpumpscanbestarted,andwilloperateuntilvacuumisgoodenoughtopermitresettingoftheturbinetripsystem(GSE).Airextractionpumpswhicharenoton"duty"willautomaticallybecedon'stand-by'andwillautostartifanyotherextractionpumpfails.TheairextractionsystemiscontrolledbytheKIC,whichalsocontinuouslymonitorsallnecessaryparameterstoprovidealarmsandautoaction.Vacuummeasuringforturbine&NIprotectionarecarriedoutbyTGr,eachcondenserhasthreeabsolutepressuretransmittersfor2outof3functioncalculation,andthenproducesset-points,whichinterlockCVIsystemaregeneratedasfollows:CondenservacuumlowThisisalowtriplevelusedbythe -dumpsystem(GCT),andthereisanalarminKIC.Condenserpressure≤60kPaThiscondition -dumpsystemCondenserpressure≤6kPaThisisthesetpointatwhichtheairextractionsystemswitchesouttheunselectedpumpsduringvacuumraising.Condenservacuumtriptheturbine:seeTGVacuummeasuringsignalinputtoTGcontrolsystemTCS,set-pointsaresenttoDCSfromTCS.VacuumleveldependsontheturbineloadconditionattheSeeTGfile.ThesevalvesrespondautomaticallytotheirrelevantCWpumprunningsignal.ThevalvesopenwhentheCWpumpisrunningandclosewhenthepumpisABCDEFGPYX17CVI006DKS0LogicPYX17CVI006DKS0ogueDiagramsABCDEFGIDY√-A- A—A—A—A—A—A—ABCDEFGOperatingAirExtractionTheAirExtractionSystemconsistsof3AirExtractingPumpUnitsA,BandC.EachunithasonetwostageliquidringExtractionPumpandoneSealWaterPump.SelectionoftheAirExtractionUnitsisbymeansofselector101KC,201KC,301KCinKIC.Theselectionofone,twoorthreepumpunitsfordutyautomaticallycestheremainingpumpunits(ifany)ontostandby,butforvacuumraising,allthreepumpunitsrun.Onoperationofthecontroller(001KG)inthestartposition,theairextractionpump(101PO,201PO,301PO)willrunprovideditsancillaryconditionsarecorrect:CoolingwaterflowandmotorwindingandbearingtempareCWinletandoutletvalvesareSealwaterlevelisnotWhentheairextractionpumpisrunningthesealwaterpump(102PO,202PO,302PO)willstart.Theairextractionvalves101VA,201VAand301VAwillopenassoonastheassociatedairextractionpumpisrunning,thedifferentialpressureacrossthevalvebeingalreadylessthan3.4kPawhenstartingvacuumraising.Thecondenserpressurewillcommencetofall,andonreaching6kPa(a),theairpump(s)notselectedfordutywillstop,leavingthedutypump(s)running.Ifatanytimeadutyairpumpfailsorifthedutypumpssuctionpressurerises,astandbyairpumpwillcommenceoperation,andwhenthedifferentialpressureacrossitsisolatingvalve(101VA,201VA,301VA)fallsbelow3.4kPa,theisolatingvalvewillopentoconnecttheairpumptotheextractionmain.ThesepumpsandvalvesalsocanbecontrolledindividuallybythemselvescontrollerinKICifnecessary.VacuumThisisamonitoringTherearenooperatorcontrolsforthisSeeTGfile.AirExtractionIndividualairextractionpumpunitsmaybeshutdownatanytimebydeselectingthepumpinKICusingtheselector101KC,201KC,301KCasappropriate.Thenbyoperatingthecontroller001KGinthe'start'position,onlytheairpump(s)stillselectedwillcontinueinoperation,theremainingpump(s)revertingtostandbymode.Whenthepumpunitisstopped,theairextractionpumpstops,thentheairextractionvalveclosesandthesealwaterpumpstops.Thecompleteairextractionsystemmaybeshutdownbyuseofthecontroller001KGinthe"stop"position,butonlyiftheturbinespeedislessthan1350rpm.Anairextractionpumpwillstopifanyofthefollowingfaultsispresent:Sealwaterlevellowfor300MotorwindingorbearingtempAirextractionvalvenotopenfor60Watersealpumpnotrunningfor10AstandbypumpwillautostarttorecethefaultyThesepumpsandvalvesalsocanbecontrolledindividuallybythemselvescontrollerinKICifnecessary.VacuumThisisamonitoringsystem.TherearenooperatorcontrolsforthisVacuumSeeTGOperationsinCaseofand/orUndernormaloperatingconditionsitmaybepossibletomaintaincondenservacuumwithonlyoneairextractionpump.However,ifthecoolingwatertemperaturerises,orairleakageintothecondensersincreases,thecondenserpressurewillrise.Thedutypumpsuctionpressureswitchwillbeaction,Astandbypumpwillautostarttoimprovethevacuum.Ifthecondenserpressurerisesfurther,a'condenservacuumlow'alarmwillberaisedinTCS.Thereisnofurtheractionwhichcanbetakeninthecontrolroomtoimproveonthissituationifallairextractionpumpsareoperatinganda"condenservacuumlowtrip'willbeinitiatedtosystemGCTandalarmasthepressurerisesstillhigher.Theturbinewillbetriped.Thecondensersarestillavailablefor dum(systemGCT)unlessthecondenserpressurerisesabove60kPa(a).Suctionisolationvalves001VAand002VAareinterlockedwiththeirassociatedCWpumprunningsignalandwillautomaticallycloseshouldtheCWpumpbestoppedortripped.UnitTriptoHouseThisconditionmayresultinashortbreakintheelectricalpower.Anyairextractionpumpwhichisoperatingwillexperienceareductioninspeed,butnormaloperatingspeedwillberesumedassoonastheelectricalpowerisResetFunctiononWhentherehasbeenFAULTsignalsofvalvesorpumpcontrolledbythecomputerforlongtimeandoperatorconfirmthatthecauseforthesesignalsareeliminated,operatorcanresetthroughthereset
