单颗金刚石划擦Ta12W的试验研究Abstract:Inthisexperimentalstudy,asinglediamondwasusedtoscratchTa12Wwithaviewtoinvestigatingtheresultingmaterialdeformationandsurfacedamage.Scanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM)andenergydispersiveX-rayspectroscopy(EDS)wereusedtoanalyzetheexperimentaldatacollected.TheresultsshowedthatthediamondproducedsignificantplasticdeformationandcracksonthesurfaceoftheTa12Wspecimen.EDSanalysisrevealedthepresenceofcarbonandtungstenonthedamagedsurface,indicatingseverematerialtransferbetweenthediamondandtheTa12Wspecimen.ThesefindingsprovideimportantinsightsintothetribologicalbehaviorofdiamondmaterialswhenusedforscratchinghardmetalslikeTa12W.

Introduction:Diamondisconsideredtobeoneofthehardestmaterialsonearthwithoutstandingtribologicalcharacteristicsincludinghighwearresistance,lowfrictioncoefficient,andexcellentthermalconductivity.Theseuniquepropertiesmakediamondsuitableforvariousapplications,fromcuttinganddrillingtoabrasivemachininganddiamond-coatedtools.Inrecentyears,researchershavebeenexploringtheuseofdiamondasapotentialcandidateformachininghard-to-machinematerialssuchastitaniumalloys,nickel-basedsuperalloys,andrefractorymetalslikeTa12W.However,thebehaviorofdiamondwhenitcomesincontactwithsuchmaterialsisnotyetfullyunderstood.ThisstudyaimstoinvestigatethematerialdeformationandsurfacedamagecausedbyasinglediamondwhenscratchingTa12W.

ExperimentalProcedure:Ta12Wwasusedasthetestmaterialinthisstudy.Asinglenaturaldiamondof15micronsinsizewasusedasthescratchingtool.Thediamondwasattachedtoacantileverviaacolloidalsilicaadhesive.ThescratchtestwascarriedoutontheTa12Wspecimenusingatribometerwithaconstantloadof5Nandaconstantscratchvelocityof1mm/min.Afterthetest,thespecimenwascleanedwithethanoltoremoveanydebrisorresidualdiamondparticles.ThescratchedsurfacewasanalyzedusingSEMandEDS.

ResultsandDiscussion:TheSEMimagesofthescratchedsurfacerevealedextensiveplasticdeformationintheformofslipbandsandshearplanes.Thesurfacealsoexhibitednumerouscracksandmicrocrackscausedbytensilestress.Thecracksweremorepronouncedinthevicinityofthediamondtoolthanfurtherawayfromit.Furthermore,materialtransferfromthediamondtotheTa12Wspecimenwasobservedintheformofdebrisandchemicalreactions.EDSanalysisrevealedthepresenceofcarbonandtungstenonthescratchedsurface,indicatingseverematerialtransferattheinterface.ThecarbonmostlikelyoriginatedfromthediamondwhilethetungstenisfromtheTa12Wspecimen.Thereactionbetweencarbonandtungstenathightemperatureandpressuremayhaveledtotheformationofcarbidecompoundsonthesurface,contributingtotheobservedcrackingandmaterialtransfer.

Conclusion:TheresultsofthisstudydemonstratethatdiamondscratchingofTa12Wresultsinextensiveplasticdeformation,cracking,andmaterialtransfer.Theformationofcarbidecompoundsduringscratchingcontributestothematerialtransferandsurfacedamage.Thesefindingsprovideabetterunderstandingofthetribologicalbehaviorofdiamondwhenscratchinghardmetalsandofferinsightintotheeffectiveuseofdiamondinmachiningapplications.Furtherstudiesareneededtooptimizethescratchconditionsandminimizethedetrimentaleffectsofdiamondscratchingonthematerialbeingmachined.Inadditiontoofferinginsightsintothetribologicalbehaviorofdiamondwhenscratchinghardmetals,thisstudyhaspracticalimplicationsforthemachiningofTa12Wandothersuchmaterials.Theobservedmaterialdeformation,cracking,andtransferhighlightthechallengesassociatedwithusingdiamondasacuttingtoolforhardmetals.Thesechallengesincludetoolwear,chipping,andsurfacedamage,whichcanleadtoreducedmachiningefficiency,increasedcost,andproductdefects.
