Althoughpopularbeliefsregardingemotionalintelligencerunfaraheadofwhatresearch

canreasonablysupport,theoveralleffectsofthepublicityhavebeenmorebeneficialthan

harmful.Themostpositiveaspectofthispopularizationisanewandmuchneeded

emphasis(重视)onemotionbyemployers,educatorsandothersinterestedinpromoting

socialwell-being.Thepopularizationofemotionalintelligencehashelpedboththepublic

Althoughthecontinuingpopularappealofemotionalintelligenceisdesirable,we

hopethatsuchattentionwillexciteagreaterinterestinthescientificandscholarly
