天涯海角主题景区石刻英译

天涯海角景区主题景观“天涯”“海角”“南天一柱”“海判南天”天涯海角风景区的主题景观是：“天涯”“海角”“海判南天”“南天一柱”等石刻。“天涯”石刻距今已有260多年的历史。雍正十一年(732年)，时任中国最南端的崖州知州程哲，路过海湾，一巨石矗在海滩路中，构成天然屏障，岩顶蓝天、高耸天际，青山白云，海风神奇，于是便引发了他的感慨，题写了“天涯”两字。天涯ThethemesceneryofTianyahaijiaoScenicSpotincludestheChinesecalligraphycarvedonrocksas"Tianya(edgeofthesky)","Haijiao(endofthesea)","Haipannantian(seadecidesthesouthworld)"and"Nantianyizhu(apillarinthesouthernheaven)"etc.TianyaStonecarvingof"Tianya"werecarvedmorethan260yearsago.Inthe11thyearofYongzheng(732),theMagistraterofYazhou,thesouthernstate,passedthroughthegulf,andfoundthegiantandtoweringrocksonthebeachlikeanaturalbarrierwithbluesky,whiteclouds,seabreezeandsoon,theninspiredhisinitiativeandcreativityandwroteas"TianYa"whichmeanstheedgeoftheheavenortheendoftheearth.

海角而海角两字，据说是清末文人之手，虽有种种传闻，但至今一时无法考证，不过这款能善解人意的题字，倒圆了人们天涯海角的梦。在“天涯”岩的下方，勒刻有郭沫若手书的“天涯海角”诗三首。HaiJiaoAnothertwowords"HaiJiao",whichmeanstheendsoftheearth,weresaidtobewrittenbyascholarfromlateQingDynasty,andalthoughthereareallsortsofrumorscan'tbeproved,butitcanbeconsideratedthatthisinscriptionmakesthedreamoftheendsoftheearthrealized.Undertherockwith"Tianya",threepoemsof"Tianyahaijiao"wrotebymodernscholarGuoMoruowereengraved.“南天一柱”石刻的上款刻着宣统元年四个小字，下款刻的是，“永安范云梯”字样。“宣统元年”也就是“公元1909年”，永安是地名，经考证是指“永安州”，也就是现在的广西贺州地区的锰山县。“范云梯”是“南天一柱”的题字作者。字步月，永安水窦村人。出生于清同治二年。“范云梯”在海南为官前后十八年，宣统元年晚清朝廷腐败无能，外国列强纷至沓来，共同瓜分中国清朝处在内外交困，危机四伏，风雨飘摇之中，当时46岁的“范云梯”出任崖州知州，苦心经营海南岛这快不毛之地。南天一柱Onthetopendofthestonecarvingof"Nantianyizhu(thepillaronthesouthheaven),thedateiscarvedasThefirstyearofXuantong,andonthelowerendthewordsarecarvedasFanYuntiandYongan."ThefirstyearofXuantong"means"1909",and"Yongan"isaplacewhichhasbeenprovedasaancientstate,thepresentMengshanCountyofHezhouRegioninGuangxiProvince."FanYunti"isprovedtobetheauthorof"Nantianyizhu"inscription,whohadgotanothernameofBuyue,fromShuiduvillage,YonganCounty.BorninthedateofthesecondyearofTongzhiofQingDynasty,FanYunti,asalocalofficerinHainanforeighteenyears,andbecamethegovernorofYazhouStateathisageof46,inthefirstyearofXuantong,toelaboratethisbarrenandunproductiveisland,whenthetotteringQingDynastyimperialgovernmentwasunderthecorruption,incompetence,strife-torn,crisis,withforeignpowers'aggressionandinvasion.一天巡边至此看见惊涛之中一根石柱顶天立地，心潮澎湃，感慨万千。有道是，“国家兴旺，匹夫有责”。意到笔到，“南天一柱”四个大字一挥而就。只见字体端庄，雄浑有力，笔迹饱满，言近旨远，完全是浑然天成。Oneday,thegovernorhadatourtothebeachandsawapillarpointingtotheskyintheroughsea,andhewasdeeplytouched.Inthinkingaboutthesayingof"Everyoneshallberesponsibleforthenationalprosperity",HeimmediatelywrotethefourChinesecharactersas"Nantianyizhu(apillarinthesouthheaven)",whichlookedelegant,powerful,mellowandfull.Thesentenceissimplebutthemeaningisdeep,anditisentirelycompletedinaccordancewiththenaturalscene.
