“2023年一师一优课”Reading&Writing四川省合江县中学校秦琴教学设计本堂课教学内容根据外研版《新标准高中英语》第七册模块5EthnicCulture之SimonWakefield’sYunnanDiary之后进行拓展教学Reading&Writing。具体要求学生以读导写、以读促写,从而达到依托模块话题、借助文章内容再次复现跨文化意识,凸显英语核心素养--文化品格培养。学情分析参加本课的学生目前处于高二下期学段。对于SimonWakefield’sYunnanDiary,学生在刚刚结束学习。在文章内容、篇章结构、主旨大意、知识层面上有基本了解。为了深挖教材,强化人文教育,故此,围绕“人与自我”,采用“主题、策略、体验、分享、反馈”五步法,激发学生人文情怀。另外,由于采取借班上课,师生之间教与学存在相互适应的问题,课堂教学互动和交流可能出现不是非常顺畅的情况,需要教师在具体操作时加以调适。教学目标本课是根据外研版《新标准高中英语》第七册Module5EthnicCulture之SimonWakefield’sYunnanDiary之后进行拓展教学Reading&Writing--Reading:TeachingYourselfToLiveHappily&Writing:Shareyourunderstandingof“Happiness”andsomewaystostayhappy。笔者通过对文本的设计,基于英语学科核心素养,设置了以下教学目标:1.语言能力目标:能识记并学会在简单情景中运用课文中出现的与幸福快乐有关的词汇,如beinghappy,unhappy,psychology,setarecord,IvyLeague,popular,haveadifficulttime,standout,besurroundedwith,endlesstests,stressed,numb,positive,accomplishment等;能运用skimming和scanning、writeasummary、debate、writing等读写策略完成本课内容。学习能力目标:学习能力是构成英语学科素养的必要条件。根据本课内容特点“以读导写、以读促写”,教师在教学设计、学生在学习中运用“学生观看视频回答问题了解本课主题、采访老师同学感知幸福快乐不同人有不同认知。”、“学生阅读填空、归纳写作技巧、写出文章概要对文本有全面了解”、“学生对不同观点展开的辩论、对SimonWakefield’sYunnanDiary内容的回顾”、“写作围绕对幸福和看法以及怎样才能获得幸福?”等多种活动方式,从而努力调适学生学习策略,提升学生学习的“效率”意识和能力。3.思维品质目标:通过阅读文本材料,形成对幸福快乐的感知和认识。根据“主题、策略、体验、分享、反馈”五步法教学法,本课设计了五个教学环节:通过观看视频引入主题--以话题语篇为依托,通过填空、归纳写作技巧、写出概况全面理解文章中心思想--通过辩论、回顾课本文本再到写作,从而引导学生逐层展开和适时理解主题的深刻含义,从而达到“渗透学生思维逻辑性、培养学生批判新思维能力”的基本目的。4.文化品格方面:本话题涉及“对幸福快乐”认知,运用了不同的教学策略,教师引导学生感悟和认识“在全球化竞争激烈的背景下,学会如何保持健康的心理状态很重要;学会如何与自己和解很重要。幸福快乐才是成功的核心因素,是重要的内心感受,是生活本生的状态,就像SimonWakefield’sYunnanDiary。学生通过本课学习对生活、工作、家人应持包容态度,取其传递正能量信息的益处,进而体现英语学科核心素养。(二)教学重难点1.教学重点:以读导写、以读促写2.教学难点:通过观看视频、阅读、辩论等环节,学生在写作输出环节是否顺畅。3.教学工具:黑板多媒体TeachingYourselfToLiveHappily346words6m’RussianwriterLeoTolstoyoncesaid,“Ifyouwanttobehappy,be.”Butifonlythingswereaseasyasthat.Apparently,beinghappyisanability,whichmeansweneedtolearnhowtodoit.This,perhaps,explainswhyaroundoneinfourundergraduatestudentsatYaleUniversityintheUShavesignedupforitsPsychologyandtheGoodLifecoursethissemester.ThecourseactuallysetarecordforbeingthemostpopularinYale’s316-yearhistory,aswellasintheIvyLeagueschool’shistory.LaurieSantos,thepsychologyprofessorwhowillberunningthecourse,believesthatthehighschoollivesherstudentsmusthavehadarethereasonthatherclassissopopular.It’slikelythatstudentswhogetintotopuniversitieslikeYalehadadifficulttimeinhighschool.Inordertostandout,theyhadtosurroundthemselveswithendlesstests,competitions,andso-called“hobbies”,whichmadethemunhappy.“Alotofusareanxious,stressed,numb(麻木的),”AlannahMaynez,a19-year-oldundergraduatestudentatYale,toldTheNewYorkTimes.“Thefactthataclasslikethishassuchlargeinterestspeakstohowtiredstudentsareofnumbingtheiremotions-bothpositiveandnegative-sotheycanfocusontheirwork,thenextstep,thenextaccomplishment(成就)。”Yaleisn’tthefirstuniversitytooffersuchcourses.Backin2023,HarvardintroduceditsPositivePsychologyclass,andabout900studentssignedupforit.Therearenowmorethan100universitiesintheUSthathavestartedcoursesonpositivepsychology,includingtheUniversityPennsylvaniaandClaremontGraduateUniversity.ItmaysoundsadtohearthatHarvardstudentNancyChengcalledPositivePsychologya“self-helpclass”.Butit’sagoodthingthatstudentsadmitthattheyhaveaproblem,insteadofhavingtopretendthateverythingisfineinfrontofeveryone.It’struethatbeinghappyisanability,andit’sOKthatyoumaynothaveityet.However,it’snevertooearly-ortoolate-tostartlearning.Step1Warmingup(within5mins)Enjoyavideo,thenanswerthefollowingquestions.Q1:Whattopicisthevideoabout?Whatishappinesstothepeopleinit?Q2:Whatishappinesstoyou?HappinessisbeingabletodowhatI’minterestedin;beingsurroundedwithtruefriends;goingonholidaywithmyparents;makingprogressinmystudies;livinginafamilyfulloflove.................Q3:Whatdoyouusuallydotostayhappy?Lowertheirexpectations.Dosomesportsintheirsparetime.Starttheirdaywithhope.Bethankfulforwhattheyhave.Stopcomparing,whichkillsone’sconfidence.............【活动形式】学生带着问题观看视频(央视采访你幸福吗?以及哈佛教授演讲Whatkeepsushealthyandhappyaswegothoughlife?),感知模块话题;采访听课教师和同学,了解不同的人对幸福不同理解。【设计意图】利用视频呈现需要讨论的话题,利用问答、采访、板书采访内容,让学生在观看,采访中,达到了解主题目的。而且视频难度不高,能自然达到用英语表达的目的。Step2ReadingQ1:ReadthearticleandfillintheblanksbasedonthearticleLearntobehappyIntroductiontothetopicyoucouldbehappywhenyouwantedto.CoursesonpositivepsychologyintheUSBeinghappyisan2.weneedtoacquire.ThePsychologyandtheGoodLifecoursehas3.forbeingthemostpopularinYale’s316-yearhistory,aswellasintheIvyLeagueschools’history.Aboutoneinfourundergraduatestudentshave4.thecoursethissemester.LaurieSantosStudentsmusthavehada5.timeinhighschool.Theywereunhappybecausetheywere6.endlesstestsandcompetitionsandso-called“hobbies”.AlannahMaynezAlotofstudentsareanxious,7.andnumb.Theyaretiredofnumbingtheiremotionssoasto8.theirwork,thenextstep,orthenextaccomplishment.Yale’scourseisonlyan9.ofpositivepsychologycoursesgiveninmorethan100universitiesintheUS.Somecallita“10.class”,butit’sagoodthingthatstudents11.thattheyhaveaprobleminsteadofpretendingthateverythingisfine.ConclusionIt’s12.-ortoolate–tostartlearningtobehappy.Answers:1.Ifonly2.ability3.setarecord4.signedupfor5.difficult\hard\tough6.surroundedw
