totransferdesiredresults andmodelinformationfromanAbaqus/StandardanalysistoanewAbaqus/StandardanalysisorfromanAbaqus/Explicit analysistoanewAbaqus/Explicit analysis, whereadditionalmodeldefinitionsmaybespecifiedbeforetheanalysisiscontinued.Forexample,duringanassemblyprocessananalystmayfirstbeinterestedinthelocalbehaviorofaparticularcomponentbutlaterisconcernedwiththebehavioroftheassembledproduct.Inthiscasethelocalbehaviorcanfirst beanalyzedinanAbaqus/StandardorAbaqus/Explicitanalysis.Subsequently,themodelinformationandresultsfromthisanalysiscanbetransferredtoasecondAbaqus/StandardorAbaqus/Explicitanalysis,whereadditionalmodeldefinitionsfortheothercomponentscanbespecified,andthebehavioroftheentireproductcanthenbeanalyzed.Forthiscapabilitytowork,thesamereleaseofAbaqus/Explicit Transverseshearstiffnessforimportedshellelementscannotberedefined;thevalueswillbetransferredfromtheoriginalanalysis.HourglassstiffnessfortheimportedelementscannotberedefinedinanAbaqus/Standardimportanalysis;thedefaultvalueswillbeused.Thesectioncontroldefinitions(kinematicformulation, orderofaccuracyintheelementformulation,andhourglasscontrol approach)tobeusedforimportedelementscannotberedefined(see “TransferringresultsbetweenAbaqus/ExplicitandAbaqus/Standard, ”Section9.2.2 ,fordetails).Onlynodesassociatedwiththeimportedelementsareimported.Newnodescanbedefinedintheimportanalysis.Nodesorelementsthatusethesamenumbersasnodesorelementsbeingimportedcanbedefinedprovidedthatthereferenceconfiguration isupdated,thematerialstateisnotimported,andtheimportisnotdonefromaninstancelibrary.Thenewdefinitions willoverwritetheimporteddefinitions.Ifthereferenceconfigurationisnotupdated,newnodesorelementscannotusetheimportednodeandelementnumbersirrespectiveofwhetherornotthematerialstateisimported.Duringresultstransfer fromanAbaqus/StandardanalysistoanotherAbaqus/StandardanalysisorfromanAbaqus/ExplicittoanotherAbaqus/Explicit analysis, thecoordinates ofimportednodescanbemodified fromtheirimportedvaluesbyrespecifyingthenodaldefinitionsifthereferenceconfigurationisupdatedandthematerial stateisnotimported.Thismodificationofthecoordinatesofimportednodesisnotallowed during transferofresultsfromAbaqus/ExplicittoAbaqus/Standardorviceversa.ImportingmodeldatadefinedbyadistributionWhile transferring resultsfromoneAbaqus/Standard analysis to anotherAbaqus/Standard analysis,mostelementormaterialpropertiesdefinedbyadistribution(see “Distributiondefinition, ”Section2.7.1 )areimportedalongwiththeelements.
