1、柯林斯辞典第49天（2016/4/12）黄培辰第481页：disinterested其他词还好说，就是disinterested要注意些，“不感兴趣”变“大公无私”，这思维跨度够大的吧。该词的英语释义写得很清楚，“对任何事情不感情趣，无法从中获益，自然行事公正”。第482页：dismay, dismalD字母中的负面词汇非常多，已经碰到的有：desolation, despair, desperation, disappointment, 算上这里的dismay, dismal, 还有后面的downcast，共有七个词汇可以用于人物描述的写作，这就是背辞典的好处，可以很系统地沿着字母序列，了解

2、各个字母中单词的特点，类似的情况还有：E字母中的“高兴、兴奋、热情”多：enthusiastic, excited, exuberant, elated, 而“震惊、惊奇、恐惧”则多集中在S字母上：shocked, stunned, startled, surprised(surprising), scared，这还不算A字母中的“焦虑、痛苦”：anxiety, anguish, agony，一些含义相近的词汇，为什么集中在一个字母当中呢？读辞典久了，写文章时经常沿着字母顺序想词，很多写作话题的构思逐渐变成了“由字到句”的过程，这才是读辞典给人的巨大收获。慢慢扛吧，刚到D，后面还有E, F,

3、第二字母序列还有I，L，第三字母序列P, S, T.第483页：dismissal,写建议措施段的时候，不是总觉得“立法、建立机制、制定计划”这样的写法俗吗？可以用dismissal写“撤职，免职”，先看dismissal的英文释义：When an employee is dismissed from their job, you can refer to their dismissal.这也就是说：be dismissed from ones job相当于dismissal，可是有一个问题，只有dismissal一个单词，还是不能扩充成句的，这个时候我们可以使用和dismissal有关的短语

4、：be faced with dismissal，以及on the grounds of misconduct（不良行为）还可以将主语变成inefficient officials或者irresponsible officials经过这样的选词修饰，就可以这样写整改措施句：In the issue of environmental protection, legislation is only a part of solution. 6、issal的确可以替换“立法、计划”等写法，而且适用于一些建议措施段落，大家可以讲主题词替换为clear cutting（滥砍滥伐）、overfishing（过量捕鱼）、industrial sewage discharge（工业废水排放），以上的写法是不是同样使用呢？ 第484页：disparity, differencedisparity比difference的程度重，而且它的释义本身就是写作句型：There is a disparity between and ，强调There is a marked difference between two things.第485页：display

7、, demonstrate 用dis-前缀，很多本页的词汇都可以进行联想记忆，不过需要鉴别一下display和demonstrate，虽然都有展示的含义，还有有些不同的：displaydemonstratedisplay是静态展示: put it in a particular place, so that people can see it easily.demonstrate是“生动、清晰地展示”： make it clear to people.学习display的名词用法获益更多：1) a window display（橱窗展示品）；a museum display（博物馆展示）, a

8、 shop display（商店内的展示品）2）firework display（放烟火）；aerial display system（航空显示系统）；acrobatic display（杂技表演） 作名词是demonstration的范围比display小，一般是：cookery demonstration（厨艺展示）；product demonstration（产品展示），搭配和display完全不同demonstration作名词，经常是“示威游行”的意思，如anti-war demonstration, pro-democracy demonstration 这是display这是de

11、stribute it so that it reaches many people or organizations.可问题是后面的distribute比disseminate的字母少，拼写难度小，为什么不选用distribute呢？而且和information和knowledge相关的搭配还包括：provide information; 2) pass on information; 3) circulate informationspread knowledge 以上的动词搭配都比disseminate简单、安全，而且你也说不好，用spread, pass on, distribute是

12、“低端”词汇吧？所以在写作的时候，不是选择那些自己在拼写时都控制不住对错的单词，以显示自己的“水平”，而是选择那些切当合理的词，先把意思表述清晰。写坚持不懈是persistence是不是比perseverance更安全呢？使用constant pursuit是不是又比persistence更安全呢，但是你能说constant pursuit就比persistence，perseverance的水平低吗？所以写作首先需要把观点说清楚，将论证具体合理化，用什么“大词”是以后的事情。不要奢求写作时让阅卷者“眼前一亮”，你写错了才“眼前一亮”。 第488页：distance的短语用法注意那几个dist

13、ance 的用法：1）be at a distance from something. 拉开一点距离2）keep somebody at a distance: 和某人保持距离 3）distance education的涵盖范围大，可以和on-line education形成互换，写作用得上第489页：distinction该词可以用于文化交流问题的写作，注意英文释义：distinction is the quality of being very good or better than other things of the same type，可以说cultural distinction

14、，然后将其与我们学过的civilization, custom, catalyst, cornerstone连在一起，写成一个文化传统的段落，既复习了单词还兼顾了写作：学会的custom使用，这个词很灵活，可以和一些形容词搭配使用，如ancient, established. 将该词和culture, tradition, civilization, heritage连接在一起，可以写出和文化交流有关的作文，以下是我们将custom是的一段文字，刚加入柯林斯的同学可以参照进行复习：用中美文化引出文化交流主题，放弃模板开篇句：Chinese and American culture can be
