Review of SyllabusThis course will examine methods of integrating and implementing preservation activities and programs in library and archival settings, based on knowledge of preservation history, operations, and current issues, Survey of preservation and conservation
4、 activities in libraries and archives, including disaster planning, environmental factors, treatment of brittle paper and books, commercial binding, and basic conservation treatments.1. Review of SyllabusTopics to be covered in the course include:Analysis of organizational forms and functions throug
5、h case studies; Basic principles of human resources, facilities, and fiscal management;Preservation assessment, including collections and facilities surveying, analysis of preservation survey data, and the writing of policy mendations; Preservation education in libraries and archives; Strategic plan
6、ning and change management; Basic conservation treatments;Long term preservation of digital resources;Disaster planning and recovery.1. 8、. Review of SyllabusCourse Format:Class sessions will be conducted as instructor s lectures, seminars, with discussions focusing on the assigned readings and students presentations. Students should be fully prepared to engage actively in these activities. The course will also feature occasional gues
9、t lectures and two field trips.2.
