Text 11In the 2006 film version of The Devil Wears Prada ,Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep, scolds her unattractive assistant for imagining

A poor bargaining skill. 对时尚不敏感C obsession with high fashion. 对时尚很着迷D lack of imagination. Priestly criticize her assistant for对应原文“Priestlysco
、lds her unattractive assistant for imagining that high fashion doesnt affect her.(批评她没有魅力的助理,因为助理认为高级时尚对她的生活影响不大)。”,可知criticize是对scolds的同义替换,选项B中的“insensitivity to fashion”是“imagining that high fashion doesnt affect her.”
、2This top-down conception of the fashion business couldnt be more out of date or at odds with the feverish would described in Overdressed, Elizabeth Clines three-year indictment of “fast fashion”. By offering on-trend items at dirt-cheap prices, Cline argues, these brands have hijacked fashion cycles, shaking an industry long accustomed to a seasonal pace.22. According to Cline, mass-market labels urge consumers to Cline认为市场畅销商标促使消费者_。A
、 combat unnecessary waste. B shut out the feverish fashion world. C resist the influence of advertisements. D shop for their garments more frequently.
【选项分析】题干中的mass-market labels urge consumers to 对应原文these labels encourage style-conscious consumers to see clothes as disposable, , and to renew their wardrobe every few weeks. D “shop for their
、garments more frequently”的意思是“更加频繁地购买服装”,正好是“renew their wardrobe every few weeks”的同义替换。 21、 state policies. Three provisions were overturned because 对应原文the majority overturned three provisionsto have state and local police enforce federal immigrations law.(大多数推翻三个规定为了是州和当地警方可以实施联邦
Coverstepped the authority of federal immigration law. On the overturned provisions the majority held Arizona had thus intruded on the federals privileged powers. Overst
Text 35Perhaps willfully , it may be easier to think about such lengthy timescales than about the more immediate future. 26、hard to conceive. Thats one reason why we have launched Arc, a new publication dedicated to the near future.(这就是为什么我们可以发行Arc这样一个致力于研究近期未来的全新出版物)相关,但细读发现段落中中并未出现scope of futurological studies,故排除。
选项C貌似与段落第二句its perhaps best left to science fiction writers and futurologists to explore the many possibilities we can envisage. 选项D 与段落第一句相关:“it may be easier to think about such lengthy timescales than about the more immediate f
Our Immediate future is hard to conceive(我们眼前的未来很难去设想),故D为正确答案。 Text 1The idea seems promising, and Rosenberg is a perceptive observer. D recognize the limitations of advertisements Rosenberg argues convincingly that public-health advocates ought to take a page from advertisers, so ski
、lled at applying peer pressure. 然而,这里出现了一个理解难点:take a page from(向学习)。 选项B中的learn from 与原文中的take a page from 构成同义替换。 选项A利用take a page from理解难点,歪曲原文,但可以通过prof
、essional这个词排除掉A,因为原文未提及professional or unprofessional。
(1)It can be inferred from the text/the last paragraph/the first sentence that. (2)We can infer (assume, deduce) that (3)Which of the following can (not) be inferred from
、the passage? (4)It is implied (indicated, suggested) in the passage/the first paragraph/the second sentence/the example that (5)By. the author implies (suggests, indicates )that (6)The passage implies in the passage that (7)The author suggests(indicates)in the passage that (8)It can be concluded fro

Text 45 Two of the

It can be inferred from Paragraph 5 that the Alien and Sedition Acts_. A violated the Constitution 违反宪法B undermined the states interests 削弱各州的利益C supported the federal statute 支持联邦法规D stood in favor of the states
The only major objection came from Justice Antonin Scalia, who offered an even more robust defense of state privileges going back to the alien and Sedition Acts(唯一、最主要的反对来自法官Antonino Scalia, 他极力为州政府的权利辩护,而这些权力可以可追溯到Alien and Sedition 法案)
D, stood in favor of the states B undermined the sta
、tes interests. 选项 C supported the federal statute. Text 41If the trade unionist Jimmy Hoffa were alive today, he would probably represent civil servant. A Teamsters still have a large body of members文中没有提及。 B Jimmy Hoffa used to work as a civil serva
Dthe government has improved its relationship with unionists. 选项C对应原文中提到 only one in ten American government workers belonged to a union; now 36% do(曾经仅有十分之一的美国政府工作人员加入工会;而现在有36%),由此可知,工会里公共行业的会员人数的确增加了
Text 4The most thoroughly studied in the history of the new world are the ministers and political leaders of seventeenth-century N
