Wherever tobacco companies cannot advertise, he says they put their logo on boots, shirts and other personal items. He

35、 says young women and girls are particularly at risk of being targeted and ensnared by these aggressive marketing techniques. “We have recommended total advertising bans. WHO recommends these because enforcement of a complete ban on advertising promotion and sponsorship will definitely reduce consum

36、ption. Evidence shows that countries that put into place and enforce them and make sure that all the companies are obeying these bans, will enjoy a 16 percent drop in consumption over countries that do not impose such bans. The World Health Organization says 5.4 million people a year die prematurely

37、 from tobacco-related illnesses, with 70 percent of these deaths in developing countries. 45、oth parties have fought to prevent tobacco companies from marketing their products to children, and provide the public with the information they need to understand what a dangerous habit this is. And after a decade of opposition, all of us are finally about to achieve the victory with this bill, a b

46、ill that truly defines change in Washington.Im proud that the House and the Senate have acted swiftly and in an overwhelmingly bipartisan fashion to pass this legislation that will protect our kids and improve our public health. Along with legislation to protect credit card owners from unfair rate h

47、ikes, homeowners from mortgage fraud and abuse, and taxpayers from wasteful defense spending, this kids tobacco bill would be the fourth piece of bipartisan legislation that Ive signed into law over the last month that protects the American consumer, and changes the way Washington works and who Wash
