Central Park is one of those places that make New York such a great place to live. The huge park, 843 acres large

20、, is located in the center of Manhattan. Its design is an example for city parks around the world. The park boasts several lakes, theaters, ice rinks, fountains, tennis courts, baseball fields, many playgrounds and other facilities. It is also home to the Central Park Zoo and the Metropolitan museum

Especially during the weekends, when cars are not allowed into the park, Central Park is a welcome oasis in this hectic city. 5 boroughs in New York City Brooklyn, a borough founded by the Dutch in the 17th century was an independent city until 1898, when Brooklyn decided in a close vote to

The impressive bridge spans the East river from Brooklyn to lower Manhattan and stretches for about 1.5 km. Grand Central Terminal is one of the two monumental gateways that were built in the h

23、eyday of railway transportation. The monumental railway station was constructed in 1903-1913 for the New York and Harlem Railroad company. It is a grand Beaux-Arts building which serves as a transportation hub connecting train, metro, car and pedestrian traffic in an efficient way. It has 67 train t

Los AngelesLos Angeles The City of Los Angeles also known as , is the second-largest city in the United States in terms of population, as well as one of the worlds mo

It was incorporated as a city in California on April 4, 1850, when the citys population was only 1,610, and is the county seat of Los Angeles County. As of the 2000 census, it has a population of 3,694,820, but a May 1, 2005 California Depa

33、rtment of Finance estimate shows the citys population at 3,957,875, with the metropolitan area at 17,545,623. The city is also large by geographic standards since it sprawls over more than 465 square miles (1200 square kilometers), making it physically larger than New York City and Chicago. In addit

34、ion, Los Angeles can be considered to be an Alpha world city since it has hosted two Olympic Games (in 1932 and 1984) and is home to world-renowned scientific and cultural institutions. Hollywood Many people think of Hollywood as the place where the stars live, where they keep their million dollar h
