After this course, students should be familiar with the prevailing theorems on international trade and trade policies, could understand the policy impacts on domestic and

21、t 2:GATT&WTO(3)knowledge point 3: Regional Free Trade and Economic Cooperation Requirements:Restating the background, reasons and trend of the economy globalization, recalling the framework of WTO, telling the relationship between GATT and WTO; understanding the theory of regional economic integ
22、ration and the effects to the involved countries.(二)课程的重点、难点及解决办法The key points of this course include all the theorems for free trade which, based on different assumptions, explain the gains from trade and the impact of trade on domestic price, production and consumption, with the instruments of ge
23、neral and partial equilibrium analysis methods. Though all mainstream theorems are for free trade, prevailing policies among countries are somewhat different in either developed or developing countries and the reasons need to be addressed too.The difficult points in this course are as follows: the c
24、oncept of “opportunity cost” and “comparative advantage” in relative term. Its not easy for students to understand that a nation can still benefit from free trade by importing some goods with a higher price than those items domestically produced. In addition, the returns to factors are also a big ch
25、allenge for them. To make all these knowledge points understood easier, the method of general equilibrium analysis with graphs is a good choice in teaching, together with cases studies and logic reasoning process.三、实验实践环节及基本要求 None四、本课程与其它课程的联系与分工The prerequisite courses: EconomicsThe course Economi
26、cs introduces some fundamental concepts like opportunity cost while international trade could be regarded as the Micro Economics in an open economy. The course after international trade is International Finance, which is the other branch of International Economics.五、对学生能力培养的要求By learning this course, students are expected to be equipped with the ability on comprehensive understanding and analyzing of international trade and economy, the ability on practicing and self-learning, and the ability on speaking and listening in English.六、课程学时分配Total 32 h
