Safety Philosophies所有的事故差不多上可预防的。 我们每个人都有防止事故发生的直截了当责任。每位经理 /主管对本部门的安全负责,同时每位职员必须对自己的安全 负责。每位职员都需要在安全方面同意培训。 良好的卫生环境是创建安全工作环境的前提。 每位职员都必须做到安全生产,遵守规章制度及操作规程。 发觉潜在的与工作环境有关的安全隐患极为重要。每位职员都有权 益、有义务报告安全的行为及生产条件。 公司的安全哲学及安全规章制度同样适用于短期在

5、厂人员、参观客人 及承包商。安全应纳入公司的投资打算及设备采购。 主动地提升职员的安全意识会提升产品质量,使公司成为运转良好的、盈利的公司3、Applicable safety rulesBefore starting any type of work, you must find out what safety regulations apply at HAW.Specified and suitable protective equipment must be used.Make sure you know where the first-aid equipment is located.

6、Find out where fire-extinguishing equipment is located at your place of wor k.Find out where the assembly point is at your place of work, in case a fire or accident should occur which is of such a nature that evacuation is required.Permission is required from the safety responsible before carrying o

7、ut jobs involving heat. Training in jobs involving heat is a requirement.The emergency number is 119 for fire,120 for ambulance and 110 for polic e. Guard house extension number is 837. Memorize it.SAFETY INSTRUCTIONSPersonal protective equipmentWhen you are working, a number of work operations may

8、involve handling materials that may cause harm. If so, you are required to wear protective equip ment of a suitable type.Use designated protective clothing and protective equipment.Make sure the protective equipment fit your sizeFollow every specific instruction before use.Look after the protective

9、equipment well and report any defects.Always wear designated protective equipment within the work area.Eye protectionYour eyes are enormously sensitive to damage at work and can not be repla ced. You can only lose your eyesight one so protect your eyes!Wear safety goggles or a helmet visor that prot

10、ects your eyes against dust, f lying particles, sparks, liquids, smoke and light and heat radiation.Think about passers-by, particularly if you are welding, cutting or grinding.Never look at a welder at work without eye protection. The UV light from t he welding torch may damage your eyes.Never beli

11、eve that one type of protective equipment is suitable for all kinds of jobs. Safety goggles, for example, may not be resistant to all kinds of liquids.Hearing protectionProlonged exposure to noise can damage your hearing. Ear protectors must be worn in areas marked as Noise Protection zones and in o

12、ther areas where ther e is a risk of ear damage, for example when using compressed-air tools, as well as sawing tools.Wear ear protectors and make sure they fit properly.Put them on before you enter a work area where the noise level is high.Keep your personal ear protections in good condition.Never

13、take off your ear protectors in a noisy area.Safety glovesSafety gloves must be worn when handling chemicals, hot metals and rack s. Never use gloves when handling rotating machines.Safety shoesSafety shoes must be worn when entering manufacturing plant.Welding and cuttingThere are always two major

14、risks in weldi ng and torch cutt ing the obvio us danger of fire and the possible risk to health due to smoke or UV light from th e electric welding torch. Strict precautions are therefore needed in welding opera tions.Check all equipme nt, hoses and cables before use discard defective equi pment.Gu

15、ard the workplace to prevent unintentional ignition of combustible mater ial.Make sure you have a fire extinguisher to hand and know how to use it.Put on suitable protective clothing and safety goggles.Secure gas cylinders in the upright position; put them in a safe place, prefer ably on special tru

16、cks.Make sure gas hoses and welding cables can not obstruckt walkways, nor ta ngle or kink.Make sure there is sufficient ventilation. If you are unsure, use a local evac uation device.Make sure the welding equipment is correctly earthed and that the earth lea d is attached as close to the workplace

17、as possible.Never use a regulator for gases other than the one it is intended for.If work is interrupted for any reason, close off the gas bottles or disconnect the power supply to the electric welding set.Do not take gas bottles with you into areas of risk- they may leak.Never try to purify the air

18、 with oxygen from your welding set. Improving th e air quality with oxygen poses a serious risk of fire or explosion, as materials su ch as your clothes which are normally not readily flammable are far more inclin ed to catch fire in oxygen- enriched air.Gas bottlesSpecial caution is required in the

19、 use and storage of gas bottles, the content s may be under high pressure, poses a fire hazard or entail major risks. The follo wing suggestions apply to most gas bottles, but you should also check the suppli er's product information.Store the gasa bottles correctly in well ventilated space-s aw

20、ay from heat sources and direct sunlight. Keep oxidised gases awayfrom flammable gases and full bottles away from empty ones.Make sure the bottles do not topple over when they are stored in the upright position. Some gas bottles, such as acetylene gas, must always be stored vertical ly. Remember tha

21、t an acetylene gas bottle is never empty.Use clear labels, filled and empty bottles must be kept apart.Always open the bottle valve gently, do not close the bottle valve further th an the point at which the gas is closed off. Do not use excessive force.Never test for leaks with a lit match use soapy

22、 water.Never manipulate safety emblems on valves or bottles.Machines and mechanical equipmentIt is possible to prevent injuries caused by machines and mechanical equip ment by watching out for the dangerous, moving parts of the machine and practi cing operation and safety systems when working on mai

23、ntenance.Report damaged or unreliable guards to your supervisor.Make sure the work is properly secured before you start up metal-working machines such as drills, milling cutters, rolls etc.Keep the floor surface clean and free from obstacles around the machine.Put on safety goggles when aworking wit

24、h grinding and milling machines which have grinding wheels or when turning on a lathe.Always disconnect the power supply before attempting to do any maintena nce at all on it.Always follow any maintenance/repair directions of equipment, don't take r isk even if schedule is tightNever wear loose

25、clothes, have your long hair covered.Never use a machine unless the safety devices are in place and secured.Never use your hands to lower the speed, to stop a machine or to shift the d rive belt during operation.Maintenance machi nes, premisesAll machines must have a maintenance plan with a person s

26、pecified as bein g responsible.Maintenance must be dealt with by a person appointed by HAW according t o a specified plan.Tag Out/ Lock Out procedure must be followed when maintenance is carrie d out and specified PPE is requiredAll overhead travelling cranes must be inspected and serviced by a cert

27、ified body every two yearsIf faults occur between the inspections, the supervisor concerned must mak e sure that the fault is rectified at once.Crane operationsOnly qualified personnel may operate cranes.Helmet is required when operating cranes.Position the hook above the load so that it does'n

28、t swing back and forth w hen hoisted.Make sure the load is free before lifting takes place.Make sure no person is beneath moving loads.Never exceed the lifting capacity of the crane or sling. If in doubt over the weight of the load, ask your supervisor.Never walk or work beneath a suspended load.Nev

29、er use single sling to lift cracks - use sling with hooksNever use defective or damaged cran report defectsManual liftingCorrect manual handling and lifting can do a great deal to prevent strains a nd back ache. A large proportion of industrial injuries are caused by incorrect ma nual lifting.Once y

30、ou have damaged your back, the damage may remain for the rest of your life. You can avoid this type of injury by following these suggestions:Assess the weight of the load and get help if it is too heavy for you to lift. Use mechanical aids where appropriate.Assess the job move any obstacle, n ote al

31、l difficulties, and make sure th ere is a clear surface where the load can be put down.Stand close to the object you are going to lift, with your feet about 30 cm a part, one foot slightly in front of the other.Tuck your chin in avoid moving your head forwards or back.Crouch down, keeping your back

32、straight.Take a firm grip of opposite corners of the object with the palms of your ha nds, grasping where the fingers start. Keep your arms as close to your body as p ossible.Lift with your thigh muscles, look up and straighten your legs.Never change grip while you are carrying the object.Never twis

33、t your back when you are lifting.ElectricityMisuse of electricity can result in fires and explosions, injury and even deat h. Only authorized personnel are permitted to work on or maintain electrical equ ipment.Report worn, inefficient or damaged electrical equipment, such as loosee co nnections and

34、 worn cables, to your supervisor. Make sure that no one can come i nto contact with such equipment before it is repaired.Make sure that the path to fuse cabinets and similar installations is clear, in case the power supply has to be switched off in an emergency.Assume that all circuits are live unti

35、l you are sure that this is not the case.Learn what action to take if someone suffers an electric shock. Before atte mpting a rescue, make sure that the power source is insulated.Switch off the power supply when you have finished with the equipment.Never get involved in unauthorized use, repair or m

36、aintenance.Never make improvised arrangements in a switch box, for example with cla mp leads in plugs with matches or nails.Never connect power tools to unearthed sockets.Never force a plug into the wrong wall socket.Never use power tools where the earth wire is not screwed tightly in the plu g.Neve

37、r hang electric leads on nails or leave them lying where they can be da maged.Never misuse the earth terminal on electric welding equipment.Compressed airCompressed air can cause serious injury. A burst hose can thrash around an d cause serious harm. If compressed air is connected to appliances whic

38、h are not intended to cope with the pressure, serious accident can occur.Check hoses and couplings before us- remove damaged equipment. Ma ke sure quick-release couplings are correctly locked.Before connecting the compressed air, check that the equipment is made to withstand the pressure.Make sure t

39、hat dirt cannot enter the air supply by back-suction at higher pre ssure from the unit.Close off the air supply and ease off the pressure before you take the conne ctions apart.Never improvise with home-made clamps- use professi on ally desighed c ouplings.Never use compressed air to blow away metal

40、 chips, debris or dirt etc with out using personal protective equipment. Particles can blow into your eyes or ear s or those of people nearby even at low pressure.Never blow dust off you with compressed air.Handling chemicalsMany of the chemical substances used by modern-day industrial companies are

41、 capable of causing harm. But they can also be handled safely if the proper s afety regulations are followed. The following general suggestions can be applied to most chemical substances, but for more detailed information you should chec k the MSDS for each individual substance.Always read the label

42、 on every container. Put a label on every container yo u fill with chemical substances.Wear the recommended protective equipment when working with chemical s.Keep solvents in well ventilated spaces- away from heat sources and dire ct sunlight.Make sure the equipment and plant have been made safe to

43、work on.Read the regulations carefully when you are going to transfer chemicals fro m one vessel to another. It may be dangerous to use dirty containers.Keep all toxic materials on clearly labelled, well sealed containers. If you h andle these containers, read every warning text and follow the instr

44、uctions. Whe never a special handling device is specified, use it.Never taste or allow unknown products to come into contact with your ski n, and only smell them with the greatest caution.Tools - Hand tools, portable power tools or the ones operated by compresse d airMost injuries involving hand too

45、ls are caused by damaged tools, tools that are used incorrectly or tools that have been wrongly stored.Keep your hands behind the cutting edge when using cutting tools.Keep knives and other sharp tools in a safe place, not in your pockets.Keep your tools clean and in good condition. Protect the edge

46、 of sharp tools when carrying them and when storing them.Before using portable power tools, make sure they are in good condition. If you are unsure about their safety, report this to your supervisor.Always use the right tool for the job.Make sure the cables do not come into contact with oil, heat or

47、 sharp edges. Check that all compressed-air hoses to compressed-air tools are tight.Wear safety goggles and ear protectors when working with power tools and tools operated by compressed air.Store tools, hand lamps, cables and hoses in a safe and tidy condition.Never life to pull power tools by the l

48、ead.Never try to modify or work a grinding wheel.Never press a portable grinding machine too hard against the work, as the g rinding wheel may develop dangerous smooth patches.Never modify, adapt or rework the way the tool operates.Never take your eyes off the job-concentrate on what you are doing.W

49、orking at heightsFalling from a great height is less common than falling on the ground, but it obviously causes more serious injuries. Work platforms must satisfy approved s tandards.If you have to work outside of a temporary or permanent platform with raili ngs and there is a risk of falling, you m

50、ust wear a suitable safety harness.When working on roofs or modules where it is not possible to wear a retain ing belt, the person concerned must exercise the greatest possible caution and ha ve scaffolding positioned alongside the module or area of work.All kinds of material from nuts to planks may

51、 fall onto others from scaffold ing, platforms, roofs and machines.Ladders - portable, fixedIf used correctly, portable ladders can offer a safe way of climbing up when working at heights.Ladders must have a broadened base. Remember that it must extend at least a metre above the place you are workin

52、g on.Check that the ladder is not defective.Always ask someone to help if you need to move a long ladder.Position the ladder on a firm surface. Slope it so that it rests at an angle of a round 70 degrees (i.e.? meter out for each meter in height.)Never stretch too far out from the side of the ladder

53、.Move it to make work safer.Never pull out an extension ladder further than indicated by the safety mark ing on the sides. Do not push your arm in through the ladder to adjust the safety catches, as the ladder may slip.Never carry heavy material up by hand. Use a tool belt or hoisting cable.Permanen

54、t work from ladder is not allowed.The rules for the correct use of portable ladders can also be applied to work on permanently fixed metal ladders. Remember to close the safety gate or lower the barrier when working on a raised platform.Accidents involving slipping and fallingFalls and slip down are

55、 often due to incorrect use or deficiencies in the desi gn of the implements. The greatest contribution you can make to prevent such ac cidents is to keep the workplace clean, tidy and free of traps' .Use safe routes and walkways. Avoid taking shortcuts and use handrails.Report both damage to or

56、 obstacles on floor surfaces, handrails and fences, as well as poorly lit surfaces.Make sure that all temporary openings in gangways are safely closed.Do not block passages with electric leads and hoses.FireFire protection is of the utmost importanee for all employees- lives and j obs as well as eco

57、nomic assets are at stake. Make sure you know how to act if an accident occurs.Learn how to act in an emergency. Find out how and where you can call for help. If you are unsure, ask your supervisor.Learn the fire instructions. Find out where the escape routes and emergency exits are located and wher

58、e the assembly points are. If there is a fire danger, kee p calm.Make sure that the escape routes are free of obstacles, that fire extinguisher s and water hydrants are accessible you may need to reach them quickly.Find out where the fire extinguishers are located at your work site and how to use them.Obey all local fire regulations, such as no-smoking or other prohibitions agi nst open flames.Report any leaks of combustible m
