2、n after it was broadcast, the new york times made a ment on this drama, named the genius of gossip girl, which praised it as the best tv play ever. then we can guess there must be some reasons why it is so popular. as many other fans, i love this drama very much, not only because there can be a goss

3、ip girl in our real life, but also because the tool-blog used by the gossip girl in the drama is related to our daily life closely. and during the process of watching this tv play, i found many of the main characters behaviors or thoughts were different from our chinese. then my curiosity drove me t

4、o collect some relevant information, and from it i learnt that there were many differences between chinese family value and western (of course here we mainly talk about america) family value, which contributes to the different behaviors and thoughts. take personal independence for example, in china,

5、 parents dont expect their children to depend on themselves even when they grow up, let alone when they are young. but in america or other western countries, children are expected to have their own thoughts when they are very young, and when they are at the age of 18, they have to left their parents

6、 and stand on their own two feet. certainly there are many other elements of family value have effect on children in china and western countries. like many other article related to the difference between chinese and western countries, this topic-the difference between chinese and western family valu

7、es has been studied and written by many famous people. different from their excellent work, this thesis tries to link the main elements of family values affecting peoples behaviors and thoughts with these people of the popular drama gossip girl. this thesis tries to describes the differences between

8、 chinese and western family values and the reasons which contribute to such differences. the objective is to improve the knowledge and understanding of cultural differences, and offer some remendations to improve intercultural munication awareness and petence in munication between people from differ

9、ent countries. 主要内容 the thesis contains four parts. the first part of this thesis introduces briefly the tv play gossip girl, and the author "s opinion-different culture leads to different family values. then the second part of the thesis is body part. in this section, the author will analyze t

10、he differences between chinese and western family values, family pattern, family education and marriage pattern are included. of course these all are based on the tv play gossip girl. in the third part, the author makes an effort to analyze the reasons why there are differences between chinese famil
