The topic of this module is Photos, a theme that is close to students daily life and can be cultivated. In this
2、lesson, the part of Reading and Writing is selected as the teaching material, in which knowledge about the winners of the photo competition. It provides a perspective for students to learn about competition experiences, which serves as the foundation of other teaching contents of this module. The em
3、phasis of this lesson is to guide the students to understand the passage and attributive clauses with which/who.II. Analysis of the Students: Our students have mastered certain skills in English reading and writing. They are familiar with the topic of photos and have learned some background knowledg
4、e about photo competition in last lesson. However, its a challenge for them to express themselves because they are afraid of making mistakes and unfamiliar with the structure of constructing compositions. So in this lesson, I will create an environment to encourage the students to express and show t
5、hemselves.III. Analysis of the Teaching Aims and Demands:1. Knowledge: Students are guided to master the meaning and pronunciation of the important expressions: tonight,winner,rush,blouse,skirt,present,headmaster,singer,even though,protect sth. against sth.,congratulations to. 2. Ability:Students ar
6、e guided to understand the content of the lesson, catch the central and detailed information of photo competition and write their short passage about their favourite photo.3. Emotion: 1) Students are guided to appreciate othersphoto competition works.IV. Analysis of the Important and Difficult Point
7、s: To be able to write short passage about their favourite photos.V. Analysis of the Teaching Methodologies: communicative approach; task-based language teaching.VI. Teaching Procedures: Step One: Lead-inAt the beginning of the class, the teacher shows the aims of this lesson and make sure that stud
8、ents understand.1. Revise the words by reading and spelling.2. Look at the picture and the subjects of the photo competition and answer: Which subject does this photo belong to? Step Two: Fast-reading1. Read the passage and find out who took the photo.2. Warming up: The students are instructed to re
9、ad the article in Warming up and talk about the following questions.1)How many winners are there in the photo competition?2)Who will present the prizes to the winners? Purpose of the Design: To stimulate the students desire to learn about photo competition and help them lay a solid foundation for th
10、eir further understanding of the article and communication.Step Three: Detailed-reading The students are guided to scan through the whole text and get some detailed information of each part according to instructions. In this step, task-based language teaching method is used, which can give students
11、a clear and specific purpose while scanning through the context. 1.The students are guided to search for information about the winners, the subjects and what the photo shows of each part.(Activity 3) 2.Check the answers in group first, and then call back the answers as a class. 3. Read the passage a
12、gain and find out the points. And then check them.Purpose of the Design: Enable the students to understand the given material better by using different reading skills.Task-based teaching method is used here to develop the students ability of communication and also their ability of co-operation will
13、be well trained.Step four: writing 1.The teacher shows a photo that she liked best and say:The photo which I like best was taken by my husband. It was taken in Beidaihe this summer holiday.
