3、es consciousness and concept have had great changes. As everyone knows, English is a language which is different from our native tongue. Language is usually used as a tool for people to communicate with each other and exchange ideas and information in their work and daily life, so people are eager t
4、o use a lot of methods to learn it well. English is widely used in the world, and people are aware of the importance and necessity in English learning. It is true that interest is a positive factor in English learning. All teachers should attach the great importance to the students interest in the w
5、hole process of English learning and teaching. As the old saying goes that interest is the best teacher. It is quite certain that the students initiative is difficult to spur without interest. So in the article,the paper starts with the discussion of students interest, then makes a deep analysis, an

7、传递的重要工具,人们采取各种不同的方式来学习和掌握它。英语是一门在世界上广泛使用的语言, 人们越来越意识到学习英语的重要性以及学习它的必要性。大家都知道兴趣在英语学习中起着一种主动积极的作用,它在整个英语学习过程中发挥的作用绝不能低估。俗话说,兴趣是最好的老师。在英语学习过程中如果缺乏学习兴趣,学生学习的主动性就很难发挥出来。因此,本文就学生在英语学习中,应从抓好学生学习英语的兴趣入手,通过深入分析,层层递进,提出了一些有用的措施来激发学生学习英语的积极性,更进一步提高学生学习英语的兴趣。关键词学习英语;学生;兴趣;激发 The Stimulus to Students Interest in

Education is a matter of fundamental importance that is concerned with the countrys development and the progress of human beings. As everyone knows, Englis
9、h is a language which is different from our native tongue. English is widely used in the world, and people are aware of the importance and necessity in English learning. With the rapid development and reform of the education in our country, people begin to know that the educational quality of school
10、s depends on the quality of teachers. Interest is the internal power to spur students learning. It is natural that interest is the positive factor of learning English. Teachers should pay more attention to the whole English teaching and learning. 一. The Importance of English LearningAs we know, Engl
11、ish is a language different from our native tongue. However, people learn languages in different ways for different reasons, and have different understandings about the language learning .For Chinese students, they have not enough exposure to good circumstances of English learning and will face vari
12、ous problems in learning English. Language is a tool for people to communicate with each other or change their ideas and information. In the whole process, students are the main body in the course of English teaching and learning. So the teacher should guide his students to appreciate and discover t
13、he beauty of English language, practice the language skills, express their ideas freely, and exchange information. The most important point is to communicate with others and understand cultures and customs of foreign countries. On the otherHand as students, they should pay more attention to cultivat
14、ing their interest in English learning, have correct attitudes, set clear goals and have right ways of learning English.二. Interest in English LearningInterest is a kind of positive factor in English learning, and has the function that teachers and students cannot underestimate in the English teachi
15、ng and learning. It is important for the teacher to give great attention to the development of the students interest, and of course, this is the key to success of English learning. As everyone knows, interest is the best teacher in English learning. From the psychological point of view, interest is
16、an active factor for mankind to explore things and perform certain activities, and has a tendency to concentrate ones efforts on learning. Interest also plays a leading role in English learning. The interest of learning is an important integrant in the course of teaching and learning, and it is the
17、most active and realistic factor of initiative and enthusiasm. Only those who have strong interest in English learning can do well and get the best results, and they can bring all their faculties into full play in learning. As every road leads to Roman, interest can lead one to any place where he wa
18、nts to go as farther as he can. At last he will be able to make much progress and win great success in English learning.三. Methods of Stimulating Interest There are so many unfavorable factors that influence the formation of interest of students, such as traditional teachingconcepts and methods, and
19、 improper teaching materials. So, all of the aspects mentioned above should be taken into consideration to improving the interest in English learning. Another important thing is that teaching materials should be fit for students. When talking about the use of teaching materials, schools and teachers
20、 should choose the best ones that can keep pace with our time, consider the students psychological features and students requirements. Most of those materials should be full of novelty, close to the students daily life and easy for students to read and understand. So teaching materials must be chose
21、n according to the precondition of attracting students interest. Of course, teaching methods should fit for most of students.In schools, some teachers pay little attention to developing the students interest. Its natural that teaching methods are very important. The traditional teaching method canno
22、t meet the students needs and cannot give joy and pleasure to students. Improper methods may limit the students space of thinking and imagination. So teachers should adopt diversified teaching methods to enliven the dull atmosphere, and achieve the good effect. Society is developing and teaching met
23、hods should be changed with it, too. The English teaching and learning has its special features, and teachers should make full use of the features to attract the students attention and interest. On the other hand, students should also do more practice in cultivating interest, set clear goals and hav
24、e good attitudes in the course of learning. And teachers should know that there are so many ways to arouse the students interest in English learning.(一) . Raising Students Consciousness in English LearningHaving a better idea of the learning aim can raise the students consciousness in English learni
25、ng. In this way, students can keep interest for a longer time, and raise their enthusiasm and activeness. If teachers cannot help students set up the correct learning aim, it is impossible to stimulate the students interest successfully. In order to make students have the initiative, and consciousne
26、ss in English learning, all the English teachers should do their best to raise the sense of responsibility in their teaching.(二). Desire for Knowledge and SkillsIn English learning, teachers should make students filled with the desire to learn more knowledge and skills. At schools, it is important f
27、or students to get much knowledge, and at the same time, they can enjoy the happiness in the process of English learning. In order to make students show their desire for knowledge and skills, teachers must create a series of internal and external conditions to help students to get more knowledge and
28、 skills. The accumulation of the actual knowledge and skills in some subjects is based on the students interest. Only on basis of the basic knowledge and skills they have learned, can students get new knowledge and skills, and they can also feel happy and successful as the time goes on. The students
29、 active practice and the necessary basic knowledge and skills under the guidance and help of teachers, can further help and encourage students to arouse the interest in English learning.(三). New Teaching MethodsIn the whole process of English teaching and learning, teachers should use various and in
30、teresting materials and vivid teaching methods to attract students. New and good methods can usually spur students to study hard and get the best results. The change of teaching contents and methods can make students get the new knowledge and skills. So teachers use new materials and teaching method
31、s to help students finish their tasks smoothly and improve the students interest in English learning.1. Playing Games Game is brimming with vigor that has delight and competitiveness to the utmost. Games can provide a meaningful context for activity and help develop both a positive classroom atmosph
32、ere and a more effective learning environment. . a. Memory Game Some examples are following: classroom-class, room; earhear or hearear; desktable. b. Contest Game c. Training Game d. Role-Playing2. Acting Pupils are imaginative and creative. They like new things and enjoy participating in actions an
33、d they seldom get bored when they are involved in the activity. Even more, they like “dance for joy” very much. That means, they like to do things with their hands, bodies and minds. If the teachers want to make the learners in high spirits and have competence to develop their interest in learning,
34、they should try their best to organize some hands-on activities for pupils to do; If so, the pupils can relax after thinking hard nervously and alternating tension with relaxation that will be not only advantageous to class study, but also sound in body and mind.For example; the teacher can write “W
35、hy do we do homework?” on the board. a. Put the class into groups. Hand out the 25 questions and ask the learners to choose 8 (or more) which they think are relevant to their class. b. Ask each group to put the questions out on the table in front of them and then ask them to get up, circulate, and s
36、ee which questions other groups have chosen.c. Hand out the answers. Ask the learners to try to match the answers to the questions. d. Again, get learners circulating to see other ideas, and then discuss the answers to the most useful questions.3. Singing Songs Using music into education has found t
37、o be most effective with young elementary aged children and those with disabilities. Music has had extreme positive influence on school-aged and non-English speaking children learning to read, write, and remember. It is sort of a motivation to learn and do well in school. Music in the classroom must
38、 begin with the teacher and end with the student. If teachers plan to integrate their teaching with music, they must find an effective way to do so.4Tell storys To tell a story before having the class, you can act with some gestures and have voice high and down that makes students have interest to s
39、tudy.5. Questions and answers The use of questions and answers can draw the students interest in the new teaching point.6. A tape-recorder It is believed that young students, even adults, will learn pronunciation best by imitation. Before they learn new sound or stress and intonation patterns, they
40、must still listen carefully and accurately, and then practice aloud. A tape-recorder is one of the best choices for both the teachers and students in practicing listening. 7. Visual aidsThe students can be attracted by the things they see, such as a picture, an object or a chart, and they will have
41、a better understanding of what is being taught with those aids.(四). Various English Activities and More PracticeCompetition is an effective measure for developing initiative to learn English. There are many English activities, such as English speaking contests, English debates and discussion, singin
42、g English songs, practicing English word twisters and English parties etc. These activities can give students more chances to express themselves and exchange ideas and information with one another. Through these efforts, students can also build their own confidence, and finally they will enjoy happi
43、ness and pleasure with others and experience the sense of success.As the saying goes the genuine knowledge and skills come from a lot of practice. If students want to get much of English knowledge and skills, they should do more practice. Practice does make perfect. English has its special features
44、and teachers can make fullest use of the features to arouse the students interest. Teachers should offer more chances to practice English speaking, listening, reading and writing and translating. English activities out of class are different from the class instruction, and they give a good platform
45、for students to give free rein to their imagination and creativity.Conclusion In truth, interest plays a leading role in learning English and the interest of learning is an important integrant in the course of teaching and learning. It is also the most active and realistic factor to the initiative a

First of all, teachers and students must know the importance of interest in English teaching and learning, For students, on one hand, they should cultivate and build their interest and determination of learning English, have the clear intention to learn, the positive attit
47、ude, and improve their English practical ability. On the other hand, students should pay attention to building and developing the interest in learning English, and gradually cultivate good habits of learning English seriously. They have to get right methods of learning English step by step. For teac
48、hers, theyd better adopt more useful and new teaching methods to enliven the classroom atmosphere, guide students to maintain the interest of learning. Furthermore, teachers have to pay more attention to improving their own professional abilities and enrich their own knowledge and skills to meet the
49、 great changes in educational reforms and opening up to the outside world. In addition, it is very important and necessary for teachers to stimulate the students interest greatly, and arouse their enthusiasm to seek knowledge and skills.
